Our Child Protection and Safety Online in Africa report calls on governments to build digital literacy into school curricula and reach parents and caregivers directly, not just regulate from the top.
We are glad to see Uganda🇺🇬 doing exactly that. The National Child Online Protection Campaign, launched at Kololo SS, brought students, parents and the community together to talk about #Cyberbullying, #Scams and reporting.
The launch shared a survey finding that 📈98.4% of students there are online, yet many face digital harms and stay silent. Closing that silence is the point of campaigns like this.
