Is success in your 20s a myth or reality? I spoke to university students on financial inclusion; How to access financial services, manage money, save and invest. Success is not just money. It's the opportunities and how you manage them. #FinancialInclusion #YouthEmpowerment

We can only make our communities safer and more inclusive for persons with disabilities (PWDs) by meaningfully including them in development programmes and decisions that affect their lives. Inclusion must be part of development not an afterthought. #KDFest26 @UNFPAUganda
It's essential to transform the narrative surrounding disability. Individuals with disabilities are not just recipients of compassion; they are innovators, entrepreneurs, leaders, artists, and agents of change. Society must shift away from mere sympathy and actively create equitable opportunities for everyone to participate and thrive. #KDFest26 #LeaveNoOneBehind

In the *1995 Constitution of Uganda (as amended)*, Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) are protected in both the *National Objectives and Directive Principles* and the *Bill of Rights (Chapter 4)*. National Objectives and Directive Principles of State Policy. - Objective XVI - Recognition of the dignity of PWDs "Society and the State shall recognise the right of persons with disabilities to respect and human dignity." #KDFest26 @Mglsd_UG l @KCCAUG l @UNFPAUganda
Are you doing something to eliminate discrimination against PWDs? As it's written "You were created in my image, says the Lord". #KDFest26 Note that Policymakers provide the *framework*, beneficiaries provide the *direction and validation*. Let's embrance what's written by law.

Sport is one of the powerful tools for #InclusiveSRHR advocacy. Over the weekend, I was honoured to speak at the Inclusive SRHR through sports amputee tournament finals organized by @GoldenBootsUg where participants accessed HIV testing, cervical/breast cancer screening.

Yesterday, I joined stakeholders from Uganda’s creative and digital sector in an engagement with the @TVETCouncilUg on the accreditation of more courses in the creative and digital sector. The conversation brought together DJs, songwriters, audio producers, Swangz Creative Academy, Ugatunes, Victoria University, content creators and other sector players. I was proud to represent the disability fraternity and advocate for training opportunities that recognise the talents, skills and potential of persons with disabilities. As Uganda expands its TVET system, inclusion must be part of that growth ensuring that creative and digital opportunities are accessible to everyone. #CreativeEconomy #InclusiveDigitalSkills #LeaveNoOneBehind

My dear brother am soooo sorry that you experienced this. Years back i experienced almost the same thing I was with my boda guy moving around,we were search for a business house to rent, so when we reach at a certain woman’s shop to just inquire whether there are houses for rent. Even before greeting the lady she said “Go back I don’t have money” I insisted and came to her and greeted and told her I wasn’t going to ask for her money but I was inquiring whether there are houses for rent. My dear brother it’s our role to change the narrative, our communities still see persons with disabilities in a charity model, they judge us by our physical appearance. We need to advocate more so that we can challenge such attitudes.
I was stopped from entering a restaurant because I am blind. One weekend, I left home with my white cane and walked to the nearest trading centre to have lunch. I had heard so much about a restaurant across the road. Teachers at my school praised the food, so I decided to try it. The area around the restaurant was congested, so I asked someone to help me get inside. Then, as I stepped into the restaurant, the owner suddenly shouted: “Stop! Stop! Don’t take him inside. I don’t have free food for disabled people.” The person helping me explained: “He is not asking for free food. He is here to pay.” She looked at me and asked: “Can you afford my food? It is expensive.” I asked how much. 5,000 Ugandan shillings. She told me to pay before entering. While we were still arguing, another woman came from the kitchen and whispered to the owner: “That is a teacher from the nearby school.” Her attitude changed immediately. She became friendly and apologized for how I had been treated. But that left me with one question: Why do persons with disabilities have to prove who we are, what we can afford, or what we do before we are treated with dignity? Disability should never be a reason to assume someone is poor, incapable, or looking for free things. Equal treatment should not depend on who recognizes you. #Inclusion #Accessibility #DisabilityRights #PersonWithDisabilities @NUDIPU @EstherKyozira @KISE_OFFICIAL @teamksblind @BugembeNelson @DisabilityLane @nuwodu @incpart

I am one of the many Ugandans who got to experience a locally made product in our transport industry and that’s the @ebusxpress and I want to appreciate @KiiraMotors for this amazing innovation that is helping citizens spend less but as well have an #ElectricExperience. But I have also realized that a huge number of Ugandans have been left behind from having this same experience those are persons with disabilities, more so those who use wheelchairs. As we celebrate this innovation, we kindly ask Kiira Motors to consider installing a FOLDABLE RAMP at the entrance of future E-Buses. We are not asking for a redesign of the entire bus, just a ramp that makes it easier for wheelchair users to board. This would also support older people and anyone who finds steps difficult to access. Transportation remains one of the major barriers persons with disabilities face, and making our buses more accessible would let us serve all Ugandans at once. Please don't consider this as an attack, but a request, so that every Ugandan can have this amazing #ElectricExperience. I have attached a video and picture showing the type of a ramp I am trying to mean. We'll be grateful if this can be considered. #AccessibleTransportUG 🇺🇬♿

At a recent engagement with the Luwero District Disabled Women’s Association, our Luwero Office supported by @FOKUSkvinner, joined the @JudiciaryUG, @PoliceUg, @UgandaPrisons and other justice actors to listen to the experiences of persons with disabilities in navigating the justice system. ⚖️ The discussion highlighted practical barriers, from limited awareness of case reporting mechanisms to the lack of sign language interpretation in many public offices. Participants also called for stronger legal and institutional measures to make justice services more accessible, while strengthening legal literacy, rights awareness and economic empowerment for persons with disabilities. Inclusion means designing justice systems that respond to different needs, not expecting everyone to navigate the same barriers in the same way. 👩🏾‍⚖️ #FOKUSProject #InclusionTuesday

Today, I joined the team @GreaterImpactA to visit St. Nicholas Nursery & Primary School in Hoima City. Supporting young people is bigger than the classroom. They need accurate information, mentorship, safe spaces and adults who will walk with them as they make decisions about their lives. Together with @TwezuuleF, we are looking at how to strengthen teachers with practical skills. As @GreaterImpactA will contribute through menstrual health, SRHR awareness and mentorship. When we invest in the people who guide young people, we strengthen the future of the young people themselves. Inclusivity is not an option. It is the work. #GreaterImpactAfrica #MenstrualHealth #SRHR #YouthEmpowerment #Hoima #Inclusivity
