With regards to my evidence in the stewards enquiry after Race 1 at Goodwood today. I felt my horse had every chance in the race. He went a head up about a furlong out. I believe Tom Marquand did everything he could to stay straight. I do not believe I should’ve lied in order to attempt to have the result called in my favour. I wouldn’t want it happening to me.
Whether it's the correct call or not, that was disgraceful from Oisin Murphy in the stewards, you argue a case for the people you are riding for, not go in there saying 'there is nothing to see here.'

I’m sorry this doesn’t make sense for this team they all followed instructions and no one abandoned their role or tried to be a hero it was just terrible tactics
This should be time for reflection for England, so for what is worth let me share with you a take from someone who is not English but knows English football culture perfectly having played many years in the Premier League You might agree or disagree, but it links to what Tuchel said about the team being passive. And if there is a hint of truth in it, maybe responsability should be taken beyond the coach, and even beyond the changing room (maybe the excess of confidence entering the game, the difficulty to see problems when victories come, the abusive search for culprits, all those things that we have seen in the past are also partly to blame) Here it goes: "Guillem, I can't help repeating something I've told you before: England can never truly function as a team because they don't understand the word "solidarity" or the concept of collective football. They always freeze when the decisive moment comes. They go out of every major tournament (World Cup or Euros) in the same way: not just losing, but making a mess of it. They always freeze when the decisive moment comes. There's a historical pattern. At some point in the game they abandon each other. Every player starts looking after himself, trying to save his own skin. Today they left the goalkeeper completely exposed. They all disappeared from the game, almost as if they were trying to avoid being singled out. Can you say who was at fault for the goals? Exactly. The best thing for them is that no individual gets blamed. Collectively, they were responsible. Everyone goes home relieved that it won't all fall on John or James. That it will all fall on Tuchel. Meanwhile, Messi can hardly run, yet he spent the entire second half happily playing on the edge of the box. Enzo, too, kept finding space to shoot from the edge of the area — his trademark — until one finally went in. An absolute disaster." Should we discuss?

If England are going to beat Argentina tomorrow I expect they will have to do so with lots of marginal decisions going against them. They will be goaded, niggled and roughed up. They cannot allow themselves to be distracted or provoked. This is World Cup heritage.

I was just reading about this. To me, it makes matters considerably worse. The issue is no longer simply whether the original red card was justified. It is whether FIFA has undermined the integrity of the World Cup, and its own authority as the global regulator of football, by appearing either to invent a procedure or, at the very least, to apply its rules in a wholly unprecedented way, against a backdrop of acknowledged political pressure, while refusing to give reasons and seemingly leaving the decision with no meaningful avenue of challenge. As someone committed to sporting integrity, transparency, fairness and the rule of law in sport, if the reports of what has happened are accurate, I find this deeply troubling. For years I have represented players and others facing lengthy bans for betting offences where there has been no suggestion whatsoever of match manipulation, because the governing bodies, including FIFA, have consistently argued that preserving confidence in the integrity of the sport requires robust and uncompromising enforcement. If that is the standard expected of participants, the regulator itself must be held to at least the same standard. If the reports are accurate, this decision, and the consequences for FIFA, could prove to be truly seismic, eclipsing the controversy about the red card itself. #sportslaw #sports #fifa #balogun
🚨 BREAKING: RBFA issues a new statement accusing FIFA of making their appeal "inadmissible" adding they have no choice but to "challenge the player's eligibility for the upcoming match". "After learning through media reports of FIFA’s decision to lift the automatic suspension of player Balogun, the RBFA sent a letter to FIFA requesting a copy of the decision, an explanation of the process that had been followed, and setting out its position regarding the applicable regulations. "As its only response, FIFA sent a letter to the RBFA stating that it considered this correspondence to constitute an appeal, that a judge had been appointed, and that the RBFA had only a few hours to complete that appeal. No information whatsoever was provided by FIFA. "For an appeal to be admissible, FIFA’s own regulations state that the reasoned decision must first have been communicated to the appellant. While the RBFA was merely seeking legitimate explanations, FIFA itself created an appeal and immediately ensured that it would be declared inadmissible. "All of this occurred while FIFA simultaneously refused to respond to the RBFA’s legitimate requests. "Furthermore, during the match coordination meeting, FIFA deliberately removed the section concerning the automatic suspension of players from its presentation. This topic had nonetheless been part of all such meetings before each of the previous four matches. The RBFA questioned FIFA, both orally and in writing, about the reasons for this change, yet once again received no response. "To be clear, as of this moment, the RBFA has still not received any decision or any explanation from FIFA regarding this matter. It therefore has no alternative but to challenge the player's eligibility for the upcoming match. "Regardless of the sporting outcome of this match, the RBFA is deeply saddened by the course of events and will continue to fight in the coming hours, days and months in defence of the fundamental principles of ethics, fair competition, and the interests of football as a whole."

I don't think #nufc need to give it the whole 'go smash it in the future' with Tonali that Anthony Gordon - deservedly - got. Not hugely convinced he really wanted to leave Milan in first place, one very good season, very average at times last year, they stood by him during his ban, he did his part of the bargain, clearly wanted to go, got a good price in the end, not desperately sad to see him go. Certainly no great sentiment about any of it but they're losing a v.good player and need to respond well in the market now or face all kinds of questions. My view was always #nufc needed major reset because things had gone very stale. But jury is out atm on what next season looks like but they have opportunity to bring in some very good young players...

This is the blueprint. Help start the fire by excitedly reporting the interest. Add kindling to ensure it keeps burning by constantly tweeting the same thing with the words changed or moved into a different order. Watch the fire spread, wait for the player to say he wants the move and then declare it’s up to the clubs to agree a fee. His current club didn’t want to sell but now the conditions for the buying club to succeed have been stoked and the wind is in their favour. Job done. And it will be repeated.
🚨💣 BREAKING! Julián Álvarez: “The best thing for me is a TRANSFER and I want to FULFILL MY DREAM”. 🔥 As always reported, Julián has agreed to join Barça and wants the move. It depends on clubs now… …after €100m bid rejected few weeks ago.

Deserved to win that on the balance of play but missed too many chances and can’t defend a lead. Hall and Bruno (who was knackered) at fault for the equaliser but it’s brilliant play from Anderson. No European football next season. To be honest they don’t deserve it #nufc
