We installed sap flow sensors and dendrometers on 7 #plane trees in the city of #Innsbruck in the context of an @FWOVlaanderen/@FWF_at project between @uniinnsbruck and @ugent.🌳☔️

Three plane #trees (Platanus hispanica) in #Ghent are now equipped with a sap flow sensor and dendrometer. Next to Amsterdam, this is our second @TreeWatchNet setup in an #urban environment. 🏙️🌳

Winter is approaching, so time to do some bio-engineering with a summary of the past growing season: @TreeWatchWUR grew most in stem diameter (10 mm) @TreeWatchEFA’s sap flow rate was highest (40 L/h) @TreeWatchBritz and @TreeWatchFBW both grew 5 mm in diameter. Till next year!

Very good question! For now we mainly focus on beech, it might be interesting to study the start/stop times between species.
