Would you believe it… 😡🤯 One of our Casualty Reduction Officers (CRO) stopped the driver of this car this morning. She didn’t understand why she was reported for an offence. 🤯

Great discussion on improving road safety from Saul of @TransafeNetwork🚗 "In terms of what's happening with multidisciplinary no-blame investigations it feels like the UK are lagging behind. We recommend having a standalone body with powers to seize evidence, seize vehicles..."

#WATCH | This is the moment a dangerous driver ploughed into a taxi driver on the hard shoulder of the #M6 before fleeing the scene & checking into a hotel. He was arrested the next day and went on to admit causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

5% of drivers said they had driven when they thought they may have been over the legal limit in the past twelve months. Despite drink driving being "socially unacceptable" for many, there is still plenty of work to be done.

Time for @DfTstats to look at road danger, not just vulnerability, to deliver on active travel and #VisionZero says @PACTS @F_I_Transport report. Shows deaths of other road users, for each mode. @CommonsTrans tinyurl.com/y3bsdmud

Really enjoying the work of @tomflood1 how he says we should market #VisionZero like they market cars. A lot to learn here. treehugger.com/how-sell-visi…

The drop in traffic wasn't followed by a proportional drop in deaths. The rate of deaths per km traveled went UP in many countries. Emptier streets = more speeding = deadlier crashes. This clearly shows the intrinsic lack of safety of the infrastructure. Great work, @ITF_Forum .

Air temp is a crucial factor in a tyre’s ability to perform. When the temp drops below 7oc, the tread compound in normal tyres begins to harden, providing less grip. Which is why we recommend drivers fit winter tyres during the colder months of October – March. #WinterTyres

"I can't understand why I've had a blow-out officer" As winter draws ever nearer it is vital that regular checks are made of your vehicle. The driver had a lucky escape on the M6 this time, but their loss of control could have been catastrophic. #MN11
