Weeks 4-6 Recap: The Swing Change Week 4 I went to the doctor to check out my shoulder issue, which was diagnoses as a shoulder impingement. Got some treatment and started doing exercises. Knew I wasn't going to feel good for a while, so I decided to focus on making a change to my swing which would help by speed: better pressure shift. I did this by overexaggerating the move in slo-mo and then faster. I felt mostly better by end of Week 6 but didn't get to practice as much as I wanted because my 2nd son was born. Week 7 I'm back to chasing. Full Video: youtu.be/_Xfq2G_FZR8

Week 1 Recap: Worked out MWF at 5 AM using FFG Tuesday and Thursday 5 AM Stack Tuesday and Thursday 8 PM 30+ drivers Didn’t do Saturday stack or drivers due to fatigue Max CHS improved to 120.8 Takeaway - I was gassed by end of the week. Felt like I was back in college. Also was not getting much sleep. emailed @Fit_For_Golf towards the middle and he recommended I reduce the swinging load (do either Stack or drivers) and do those right before I workout so I have 48 hours of recovery Full video: youtu.be/s9vY_8QUXrs?si=upeH…

These "professionals" at Valspar are killing me this weekend. How am I supposed to complain about the bad attitude of these junior players when these men are acting like 3 year-olds?

In all reality it’s truly sad how many steps backwards college golf has taken in the last 15 months.

Thought experiment: If a course had either zero fairway (Winged Foot'ish) or super wide (Augusta 20 years ago), angles become proportionally more important off the tee. In both cases angles matter a lot. Firm the greens up, gets magnified. It's a bathtub curve. For this hole shown, looks wise to get the angle, b/c a miss is a good angle from the left bunker.

It was fun sitting down with Daniel and Cooper to discuss my favorite topic - the golf swing. Hope you enjoy it.
An instructor that can make things make sense is important - that's why we talked with @mfinneygolf. Mike does a great job at knowing a lot and explaining what is necessary for a student in their swing. Hope you enjoy! youtu.be/7nqWwpQeuak

Thanks for having me on the podcast! Super fun to provide a behind-the-scenes look at our fitting tools, gapping app and @BallFitting logic. Also allowed me to go unnecessarily deep on ball flight physics and my own personal driver training

When we started TPI, we had to convince the industry that physical preparation was important for golf. Today, it’s rare to find a competitive golfer NOT training for golf. A testament to the work of thousands of golf, fitness and medical professionals... 🎥: @TournamentCode

You can never predict when it is going to click. In Ep. 064, @dewsweepergolf reminds golfers that where you are now is not indicative of where you'll be. It's important to just keep working and controlling the controllables. Listen & Watch: thetournamentcode.com

The job of a golf instructor is to teach the person in front of them. In Ep. 064, @dewsweepergolf emphasizes the importance of having/being a coach that can work with a player of any level and help them get to the next level. Listen & Watch: thetournamentcode.com

One of the main takeaways Use alignment sticks in practice. Learn how to align yourself, the club face, and achieve a consistent ball position. Many amateurs have low hanging fruit here. Stand behind good players and not so good players on the course. Take note of alignment. You don't need to align perfectly square. If you're lined up 50 yards right and can't tell you're probably in trouble though. See it with playing partners all the time.
If you're going to be great, you can't be reactive. In Ep. 064, @dewsweepergolf explains that great players focus on a few things and stick with them, even if they have a bad day. Listen & Watch: thetournamentcode.com
