Interestingly, most of WeWire’s transaction volume comes from businesses outside Ghana. We operate as a Canadian-licensed entity serving businesses globally. Ghana will always be home, and we’re proud to build from here. We look forward to greater regulatory clarity that will allow us to move beyond pilot programs and scale our local operations. Built from Ghana. Serving the world. 🌍
we've processed $3B+ in cross-border payments for 4,000+ businesses at @usewewire. the biggest thing that volume taught us is that payments are the last mile of trade. before a business can send a payment, it has to find the money to buy the goods.

The aesthetics of design or rather design that inspired designers of today doesn't seem to exist today. For it too there'll be rosy retrospection but these are some of my thoughts. I apologise if they are not coherent

As a child, I used to lose things. A lot of things. Pens, money, keys, cardigans. You name it. I once lost my cardigan on the first day of school. My dad vowed never to buy me another one, and he kept that vow. I was so bad at keeping things that when my younger brother and I were given money for school, I could spend half of mine replacing the pens I’d lost. He suffered for my carelessness. But something changed as I grew older. Today, I use my phones for three to five years. I finish my pens instead of losing them; I’ve buried 5 pens before (mass burial ☠️). I still have receipts from before university, alongside documents and other things I’ve managed to hold on to for years. The difference wasn’t that I suddenly developed an extraordinary memory or became a more careful person. At some point, I unconsciously built a system. Everything needed a place. My pen had a place in my bag. My cards had a place. My money had a place. Everything in my room had a designated spot. Over time, I stopped having to think about where things belonged. My brain had developed a map of where everything should be. If something wasn’t where it belonged, I’d notice immediately. I had essentially outsourced the problem to a system, repeated it until it became second nature, and eventually internalized it. And I think this is one of the most interesting things about systems: a system you repeatedly use eventually becomes part of how you think. When you start using a prioritization matrix, you might initially need to write everything down, classify your tasks, and consciously work through the framework. But over time, you begin to instinctively distinguish between what is urgent and what is important. The same applies to strategic frameworks. The more you work with Porter’s Five Forces, for example, the more naturally you begin to see competitive forces when you examine a market. First, you use the system to organize your thinking. Eventually, the system reorganizes how you think. You externalize a process, repeat it until it becomes familiar, and internalize it until it becomes instinct. The ultimate value of a good system isn’t just that it helps you do something. It’s that, eventually, you no longer have to think so hard about how to do it.

Dear Lagosians, This is my promise to you. I will never in any language tell you to live in your parents house as an answer to the expensive rents and housing deficit. Instead we will work tirelessly to deliver a 100,000 units of housing that are not only accessible but truly affordable. Enact laws that protect tenants and create an agency to investigate and enforce said laws. I will never in any language tell you that Traffic is a lifestyle. Instead we will deliver the entire rail network in 2years by opening the project to private sector procurement. Our focus will not be how to pad or steal money it would be on making movement in lagos more effective and affordable. I will never in any language tell you that we do not know or understand how much waste is being generated in Lagos state, neither will we tell you to go back to you village when you complain about the state of the enviroment . We will rid the waste management system of the corruption and racketeering that has left lagos covered in filth. We will create a waste to energy and waste to wealth value chain. We will build out proper sewage processing facilities and empower local governments to participate in waste management. Lastly under no circumstance will any public official boast about expensive watches whilst so many struggle in poverty. My promise to you is high impact governance, actions you will feel, because Actions speak far louder than words. #ourlagos.
Here is a quick look at Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour taking direct questions from Gen Z Lagosians at #ThePlatformNG Town Hall Meeting today. What are your thoughts on his roadmap for Lagos? Let us know in the comments below! 👇 #ThePlatformNG #LagosTownhall #GRV #GenZ #NationBuilding
