Got myself a new home on the internet. I've been working on my portfolio for a while now. It features hand written sections from me.
Go have a look.

how are design engineers wrapping basic ass things that frontend devs knew by default pre-AI in a nice UI and calling it "craft"?
We don't have to accept shit.
I know it's hard to accept. As a game dev myself with over a decade of experience, it's a big bruise to our egos as artists, engineers, and writers... But we just have to accept reality and the fact that Ai is here to stay. Instead of hating on it, we can use it as a companion to increase our productivity without replacing the creative process that makes game dev fun.
During the Industrial revolution, farm workers and small farmers initially rejected new agricultural machinery. Those who adapted early had an advantage, but eventually, everyone had to adapt.

- ai being very good ar making shallow, surface level copies that look impressive at first pass

The Citroën 2CV is back as a low-priced, electric hatchback.
The new 2CV is smaller than the original, with plenty of retro design cues and colorful materials.
While this 2CV is just a concept, Citroën aims to have the production car ready by 2028.

This is like saying that having to hit the gym is gatekeeping you from having six pack abs.
and this applies to all else regarding genai.
While it's been touted as the removal of all barriers, its evangelists had no understdanding that barriers (existing through the need for understanding, dedication and craftsmanship} were there for a reason.
