Interestingly, most of WeWire’s transaction volume comes from businesses outside Ghana. We operate as a Canadian-licensed entity serving businesses globally. Ghana will always be home, and we’re proud to build from here. We look forward to greater regulatory clarity that will allow us to move beyond pilot programs and scale our local operations. Built from Ghana. Serving the world. 🌍
we've processed $3B+ in cross-border payments for 4,000+ businesses at @usewewire. the biggest thing that volume taught us is that payments are the last mile of trade. before a business can send a payment, it has to find the money to buy the goods.

Let’s tokenize the market
This is the reason why your favorite stock broker can't display LIVE data. How can they make money with this price for live data?

I think they’re one of the most innovative companies out there.
For me, one of the most interesting parts of building a fintech company is discovering that solving one problem often brings you face-to-face with an even bigger one. The good thing is that I have come to like problems and finding solutions to them. At WeWire, we’ve spent years building the infrastructure that helps businesses move money across borders. Along the way, we’ve processed over $3 billion in transactions and powered more than 4,000 businesses. Cool numbers, right? But the closer you get to how businesses actually operate, the more you realise that getting money from one place to another is only part of the equation. Sometimes, the bigger challenge is having the capital to get the transaction started in the first place. A business can have a willing buyer, a ready supplier and goods waiting to move, yet still be unable to fulfil the opportunity because financing isn’t available when it’s needed. That got us thinking: could we build a better connection between businesses with viable trade opportunities and people willing to finance them? That question set us on the path to Trade Tokenisation. The journey has taken us beyond our familiar territory. We’ve had to think through how physical goods, digital tokens, treasury operations and investor participation can work together in one product. It has meant close collaboration across business, product, design, engineering, compliance and legal, as well as engaging with the Securities and Exchange Commission Ghana through its Virtual Asset Sandbox. The result is a feature that allows businesses seeking financing to structure trade deals as digital tokens that eligible participants can subscribe to. The underlying goods are held in a bonded warehouse managed by WeWire, connecting participation in a digital deal to the physical trade behind it. This is an important step in how we think about WeWire’s role in the financial ecosystem. We’re not only building better ways to move money; we’re exploring the infrastructure that helps businesses access opportunities, put capital to work and move trade forward. Today, WeWire Invest is live. This is phase one. Full deal closure, richer controls and, eventually, a secondary market are on the way. To the team who built this, and to SEC Ghana for creating space to innovate responsibly: thank you. We’ve shared more of the thinking, challenges and decisions behind this journey in our latest story. 🇺🇸 Senator Elizabeth Warren has repeatedly stated that cryptocurrency is used for money laundering and to avoid sanctions. Today, the US government fined Bank of America $1.2 billion for violating money laundering regulations and sanctions laws.

No one went to prison. No home confinement. No DPAs. No one was even charged. Water under the bridge. Onwards!
🇺🇸 BREAKING: Bank of America has been fined $1.2 BILLION by the US government. The bank failed to flag over $5 BILLION in suspicious transactions, the Treasury says. The missed transactions were linked to suspected Chinese money laundering networks and illicit finance around the southern US border. The Treasury called the bank’s money laundering and sanctions failures “egregious and continued.” The penalty includes a $750 MILLION fine from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, per the FT.

> be Alexandr Wang > grow up in Los Alamos, parents are physicists at the national lab > drop out of MIT at 19 > start Scale AI, labeling data for every AI lab on earth > youngest self-made billionaire in the world at 24 > Zuckerberg pays $14.3B for 49% of your company > and hires you to run Meta's superintelligence lab > rebuild Meta's whole AI org in a few months > Zuck writes a check for $100-200 billion > asks if you're sure it's going to work > "certainly not clear at all that it was going to work." > ship Muse Wonder anyway > Meta's own tests put it next to Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra
🚨do you understand what Zuckerberg just admitted about Meta's first frontier model. Zuckerberg: "We're gonna write this check for like $100 billion, $200 billion. I'm like, Alex, are you sure this is going to work?" Alexandr Wang: "…certainly not clear at all that it was going to work." it's called Muse Wonder. here's the part nobody is talking about: > Meta's own tests put it level with Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra > on MemoryBench it beats Fable, Opus and Astra > $4 input, $20 output per million tokens, same tier as Opus 5.5 > trained at Prometheus, Meta's new data center in Ohio > no independent benchmarks yet $200 billion. one bet. and the guy signing the check wasn't sure it would work. now we find out if it did. watch the clip below ↓

“Your startup is failing and you're running out of money? Get a job.” That's the advice @_Iampkay has for struggling founders. His argument? Building a startup while financially unstable can push you into desperate decisions. Get a good-paying job, take care of yourself, build experience, and keep working towards your idea. But here's where founders might disagree. Does getting a job give your startup a better chance of survival, or does it distract you from building? Watch the full conversation and tell us where you stand. Link below👇
