We are hiring a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on a new project developing a drug delivery vehicle targeted to the islet beta cell. This project was recently funded by the NIH and JDRF! Please share and apply at this link:jobs.mines.edu/cw/en-us/job/…
Excited to share a protocol for our RNA proximity labeling method Halo-seq. This was spearheaded by @HYG_Lo and is more fruit from our fruitful collaboration with @SpitaleLab.
Here, @HYG_Lo @EngelKrysta @SpitaleLab @JMTali et al (@CUAnschutz @rnabioco @UCI_SPPS @UCIrvine) describe a protocol for Halo-seq, a proximity labeling technique that can label and profile local #RNA content at virtually any subcellular location. ➡️bit.ly/3kS04BJ

Taking short cuts, cherry picking data, intentionally overlooking or mis-representing prior work in the field, will often move a paper over the finish line and give you a win. Yet we, the scientific community, see you. You build & deserve your own reputation. Happy Mothers Day😎

I must admit that this annotated Nature abstract remains a useful recipe for constructing a summary paragraph. I show it to my students every time we get started.

Reviewers should appreciate that good papers often lead to more questions than they answer. The fact that not everything that emerges from a single paper is followed up on should not reduce the reviewer's excitement; it should be seen as a mark of the work's impact.
