There's no intrinsic value in more education that justifies this argument. If I get a Ph.D in romantic lit that isn't more valuable than a barista

Do you recognize the person on the right? That's Bebe Scarpi and we've found Bebe's extraordinary taped testimony from that 1971 hearing that hasn't been heard in more than a half-century—in which she tries to explain her identity to clueless City Council Representatives.
“It was hard to get up there to testify because the Council kept on trying to push the drag queens in the background." Sylvia Rivera sits w/ Eric in 1989 discussing hearings on Intro 475, the first gay rights bill introduced in @NYCCouncil. 🔊 bit.ly/mgh-respectable

So it’s not @ArtOfTheClinch but I didn’t know whom else to tag. This book was on my hotel’s take-one shelf & I don’t think the picture looks like what they intend it to look like.

great day to share some of my fav pics of princess diana hanging out and shaking hands w AIDS patients at a time when the disease was so stigmatized, nurses would leave trays of food outside of patients’ rooms for fear of catching it via touch

I think when you remember that every piece of clothing ever made was made by people - including the clothing we wear today - the takeaway should be that all garment workers deserve to have their skills fairly valued and compensated. Not that certain skills are valueless.
