know ive been tweeting about this a lot but really think papertrade could be a generational setup
high leverage perps are crypto's most profitable product to date, demand for speculation is not going to go away
ability to open/close synthetic 1000x positions w/ no market impact is a novel mechanism, paired w/ the house-trader relationship where trader losses fund the onchain LP, & all losses after a certain LP cap get paid out to traders staking the platform's native paper token - can see how this can maintain traction longterm, already at 50M+ paid out to $PAPER stakers in first week
every other perp dex's revenue comes from a small take rate on the fees of volume, no perp dex has been able to monetize directly trader losses, of which it's been shown is a much larger number, in theory winners should be able to easily get paid out from house LP over time as high leverage has a difficult success rate, ideal state is that its closer to 50/50 winners/losers after a certain LP cap and even then its a much better model allowing traders to own the house
what's more interesting tho is that the model should be able to be extensible to other games outside of just perpetual futures, the online gambling industry is massive, and none of the online casinos are +EV for users, every major online casino is -EV as thats how the house makes money by creating games that are slightly better probabilistically for the house and monetizing losses over time, with papertrade it should be possible to let people speculate on other similar games with the same model as losses going back directly to paper stakers instead of just to the house - so im curious to see what team is thinking of here
if hyperliquid is the AWS of all of finance, then papertrade could be the AWS of all high leverage speculation money games on the internet, will be cool to see how the next several months play out, dont think people have gone deep enough on the possibilities with one of the first novel onchain experiments in awhile that also rewards its most active participants

Enjoy private DeepSeek V4.1 Flash 1017 hosted in US datacenters 🇺🇸
DS V4.1 Flash was updated yesterday to "1017" variant. Huge upgrade.
It is now the top open-source model in the world.
Roughly on par with Opus 5 in capability, yet vastly cheaper and faster.
It's free for @AskVenice Pro users in the app.
Agents can enjoy this model privately here via API:
curl api.venice.ai/api/v1/chat/co… \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $VENICE_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"model": "deepseek-v4-1-flash-1017",
"messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "Hello!"}]
}'
DeepSeek V4.1 Flash just got a serious upgrade.
@deepseek_ai’s 1017 outscores leading open-source and frontier models on nearly every benchmark.
Same model in the Venice app, simply upgraded and available via the API as deepseek-v4-1-flash-1017.
Fully private.

Holy, DeepSeek 4.1-1017 is roughly on par with Opus 5, significant jump compared to DeepSeek 4.1 Flash regular.
It outperforms GLM5.3 across the board and even GPT-5.6 Sol!
Buy 2 DGX spark and run this baby locally. China is back!
Deepseek just released a new 4.1 version
On par with opus 5

After using Grok Bot for about a week, I have to say guys, I get it.
It's not doing things that I can't already do on Codex / Claude, but it's just so much easier to do it. I can see the appeal.

Old friends are the best friends. Jensen rocks.
The Star Mind computer being co-engineered by SpaceX and Nvidia is far better than almost anyone expects and will reach volume production next year.
Working with the incredibly talented Nvidia engineering team is pure joy!
Jensen Huang says he loves working with Elon Musk, and reveals their engineering teams are designing a new type of server to put data centers in space
“I’m delighted that I love working with Elon. He’s using our technology for his own AI in training models and such, deploying models, of course."
"Grok Bot is super cool. The demand for Grok Bot, the consumption for Grok Bot is really skyrocketing. And then, of course, he rents it."
"And so the combination of these three things, he’s fairly unique in doing that. I guess Google does that. That would be yet another example."
"And so I think he also has the advantage that he loves the intersection between computing and the physical buildouts. He loves that whole area. Nobody knows more about energy than he does."
"One particular new market that we’re going to go explore together is putting data centers out in space. Our two engineering teams are working super closely together to create a new type of server, a new type of architecture that might be super good in space and on Earth.”

Really like the organic, measured path @AskVenice is taking with $VVV, building GPU clusters inside existing data centers instead of over-levering on full data centers.
Cautious vertical integration that lowers inference costs, supports better margins and burns, and should compound nicely over time. This kind of discipline is rare in AI right now, where we’re already seeing early victims. Should hold up through any market slowdowns.
To be clear, we are not building a data center (which cost hundreds of millions of dollars). At least not yet.
We are building our own GPU clusters within data centers. We're doing this in order to vertically integrate and reduce the cost of inference which lets us do a combination of lowering prices and/or increasing net revenue which then permits more burning.
