LINCOLN! "The Savage Curtain" turns 55 this week and to celebrate we're seeing if it's a Trek, Marry, or Kill. Bryan and writer Andrew Bloom (@TheAndrewBlog) from The Spool look at an episode that could be viewed as dumb or a greatest hits of TOS tropes. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

The number of people who are acting like the Janel Grant lawsuit is only about Vince and now that he's out, all investigation into the company itself should stop are, much like HHH, actively ignoring the lawsuit. I literally just reread it and let me take you through it here.

At the end of the PURGATORIO, Dante reaches the Earthly Paradise and gapes at this elaborate magical parade representing the Church, until it's all corrupted by malevolent forces and turned into a bizarre giant monster. And I swear to god it feels like some Kingdom Hearts shit.

Me, when I finally get around to watching the original TOP GUN movie, expecting to hate it and end up low-key loving it:

No fair -- he stole mine! I'm still a little gobsmacked by METROPOLIS. It obviously shows the hallmarks of its time, but in many ways, the film still feels so damn modern, in its imagery and its themes. It's a nightmare and a daydream sewn together in celluloid. A masterpiece.

Michael Gambon played the title character's father in the 2009 EMMA miniseries. He didn't have much to do. He mostly bumbled around and acted a little ridiculous. I wondered why they'd hired such a notable actor for such a nothing part.

Then, in the final ep, he gives this heartbreaking monologue about being a father, and his hopes and dreams for his daughter, and his worries about the role he played in her life. He absolutely nailed it. And I went, "Oh that's why!" He was a talent. May his memory be a blessing

The latest LOWER DECKS episode features Ensign Tendi's return to the Orion home world, and it's one of my favorites of the season. The laughs are on point, and the plot comes with an endearing and well-observed tale of resolving who you are now with who you used to be.
Diving into D'Vana's culture delivers another smart and funny episode of #StarTrek #LowerDecks, reveals @theandrewblog. buff.ly/3rnB7oI

I'm not sure there's a better example of positive masculinity on TV than Ben Sisko from DEEP SPACE NINE. He's a commanding wartime chief, not afraid to get tough when it counts, and a strong leader. But he's also a romantic, a caring father, and loves kids to pieces.
