Miami takes the top spot in @RJ_Young's latest Top 25! Who deserves to move up?

Quick Thoughts after #Texas loses to Florida: • 4 years in and there’s been no development of Arch • Year six and the offense is the worst it’s ever been for Sark • I have no reason to believe things will magically change.

Someone tell this Texas fan his team lost in horrific fashion two weeks in a row

Texas–Tennessee is almost a coin flip Saturday. The playoff swing isn’t. Texas: 74.0% CFP with a win, 44.6% with a loss. Tennessee: 44.7% with a win, 17.4% with a loss. That’s a 29.4-point swing for Texas and 27.3 for Tennessee.

Neyland gets the spotlight Saturday. The matchup itself is almost dead even: Texas 50.2%, Tennessee 49.8% on our Week 4 game board. But the season stakes are not: Texas sits at 60.1% to make the CFP. Tennessee is at 30.8%.

Ryan Day’s Tuesday press conference sounded like a reckoning. He chose to “hold the line,” wished he could’ve seen the alternative and says “hard decisions” are coming. The model barely moved: Ohio State is still No. 4 nationally with an 81.9% CFP chance.

Texas Tech looks like the chalk play in Saturday Four this week. The Red Raiders cost $40, but the model gives them a 96.7% shot at Oregon State—and road wins pay 12 points instead of 10. Safe anchor or too much of the $100 budget?

Notre Dame can lose tonight and still remain a strong playoff favorite in our model. The Irish sit at 89.3%. Across the 1,001 of 10,000 simulations where Wisconsin wins at Lambeau, Notre Dame still makes the field 72.6% of the time. Test the upset path ⬇️

AP No. 9 @OleMissFB: 39.4% to make the CFP, 66% to beat AP No. 24 @LouisvilleFB on Sunday. Flip Louisville as the winner in our Playoff Machine and Ole Miss drops to 25.8% — down 13.6 points, but still alive. marchmetrix.com/football/mac…

Texas Tech enters Week 1 with a 90% chance to make the CFP in our preseason baseline. The part that jumps out: their most likely landing spot isn't the bubble. It's the No. 6 seed. 10,000 simulated seasons: marchmetrix.com/football/mac…

A buddy and I built MarchMetrix for college basketball fans a few months ago and now we have transitioned to college football. We have our own team rankings that update throughout the season, plus projections for the 12-team College Football Playoff — who’s in, who’s on the bubble, and each team’s chances of making the field. You can dig into individual teams and see how they stack up, track how the playoff picture changes week to week, and see where our numbers differ from the traditional rankings. Then there’s the game side of it called Saturday Four. Every week you build a lineup of 4 teams, but each team has a point value based on how strong they are. You have a limited budget, so you can’t just take the four biggest favorites. You have to decide where you want to spend your points and where you’re willing to take a chance. The Saturday four tab on the site runs through how to game works. So it’s really two things: • A college football rankings/playoff projection site for following the season • A weekly game that gives you something to play every Saturday We are also building a few other features (college football 8 team fantasy game, stock market, and a beat the metrix game). We will launch these new features shortly, and I can preview these to anyone interested. It’s free. We built it because we’re college football fans and thought there should be a more fun/data-driven way to follow the playoff race all season. Let us know what you think. Thanks! marchmetrix.com/football
