We now have three of our locomotives fitted with the high-tech PANDAS-V system from North East tech firm @TDynamicsHQ, to identify defects on the Overhead Line Equipment. Yesterday we ran one of them from York to Newcastle and back to give @NetworkRailEC data on the 80-mile stretch of our route which the trains don’t normally cover. A great example of the collaboration taking place between NR and @LNER to improve service reliability.
For those wondering what today was all about here are some defects picked up on todays run by the Pandas system. Theres a load more data of pantograph acceleration forces to be crunched now by @NetworkRailEC engineers so we can proactively fix defects before they impact services!
