New drone technology is helping our teams respond more quickly and safely to severe weather on the East Coast Main Line.
By providing views of hard-to-reach areas, drones can help engineers make informed decisions to keep passengers and freight moving.

We’re dealing with damage to overhead line equipment near Alnmouth, which was identified following reports of a loss of power to a train on Thursday evening.
Engineers have been on site overnight assessing the damage and planning repairs.
To keep passengers and freight moving safely, trains are currently running under a reduced service on the East Coast Main Line while teams work to make the damaged equipment safe.
We’re planning for engineers to undertake emergency repair work overnight and are working closely with train operators to minimise disruption.
We’re sorry to anyone whose journey is affected. Please check with @nationalrailenq or your train operator before travelling.
