If any friends in Melbourne wanted to see Hannah Gadbsy this afternoon at 4 (front row seats!) - We can't make it (had to pick up a pet from the vet) and so are trying to get rid of our tickets: tixel.com/u/9663218
So it's almost 2 months on with starlink, and I thought I'd do a proper update since we have it properly mounted now:
* Average speed (Mbps) for us is 217 down, 14.7 up (appx. 3 speed tests an hour, averaged over a week)
* Our fasted down speed tracked was 370, fastest up was 52
We have concrete tiles, and wanted it high up on our roof (surrounded by some taller trees), and so our neighbour (who does metalwork) fabricated a custom eave mount, similar to ones available in the US:
So starlink arrived yesterday - and even just set up temporarily on our back lien with some obstructions, it’s pretty decent so far.
Average seems to be around 200 down for us at the moment but lots of small outages from trees. Planning to mount on our roof ASAP
Does anyone have suggestions for a good home router (stand alone, doesn't need built in wifi etc) - e.g. Ubiquiti, TP-link or similar that supports multi wan w/ with the ability to load balance but also restrict certain devices / IPs to only use a specific WAN interface?
@decryption you were the first person I thought might know an answer to this :D
Awesome! EC2 Mac Instance (no M1 yet, but very cool!) - aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/new…
