Imagine going back to 2011 and telling someone that the man voicing Tony Stark's AI assistant J.A.R.V.I.S. would eventually play the original Human Torch.
Paul Bettany's MCU journey comes full circle in 'VISIONQUEST', where he takes on the role of Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch, alongside Vision and Dr. Phineas Horton.
Jim Hammond first appeared in 'CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER' as a silent, blink-and-miss Easter egg: a Synthetic Man displayed inside a glass case at the 1943 Stark Expo.
Back then, Bettany was only known as the voice of J.A.R.V.I.S. Now, he's bringing the character behind the MCU's original synthetic life to the screen.
From J.A.R.V.I.S. to Vision and now Jim Hammond, Bettany is playing multiple generations of artificial life in one franchise. A background Easter egg from 2011 has become a major part of the MCU's synthetic-life mythology.

Pitiful half. It's like watching two pub sides. We don't have a scooby what to do with the ball & then we leave gaps galore off of it. Our attempted through balls have especially been rotten. I can only hope for a second half like Palace but I'm fearing more of one like Villa.

Spineless performance & a carbon copy of the pre-season defeat to them. There's just nothing about this side. Another game where the opposition don't really need to break sweat to beat us. Hope I'm wrong but it feels like that 15 mins against Palace is going to be an anyomaly.

44 years ago, this month in 1982, the film adaptation of my novel FIRST BLOOD debuted. I fondly recall the thrill of seeing it with an excited audience. It changed action movies, just as I had the goal of changing action novels.

Massive win for Jaissle. He must've put a rocket up them at the break because we were superb in the opening 15 mins of the second half. Here's hoping we can really kick on. The fact we could've been 16th & are now 7th just shows the state the league is in right now.

Just started Alice Cooper's autobiography. Already I can tell its going to be excellent. This is NOT going to be the usual "wild men live crazy" rock & roll read.

Bellamy was well on course for his best individual season with us & then Souness just had to ruin it by sticking him out wide leading to the post-match Highbury fiasco. It says a lot that Bellamy was our joint top league scorer that season despite leaving in January.

Eight years ago today I was attending the launch of actress Angela Douglas' new novel, Josephine, with friends Valerie Leon & agent Barry Langford.
I miss Angela. She's in a home now and her memory is poor. Happy memories of many fun times together. I miss that Angela so much.

There are gentlemen and there are gentle men. Tom Skeritt was sure both. A dude and a mensch.
