Here's both Windows 10 and 11 over time.

ALT Size of Windows 10 and 11 cumulative updates by version for the x64 platform. B Updates only. The graph shows how Windows 10's initial versions quickly growing, then reaching a "ceiling". Starting with 1809, the updates grow at a much slower rate and are noteably smaller. This continues until Windows 11 v23H2. Windows 11 v24H2 starts of relatively small, but then explodes to over twice the size of the largest Windows 10 update, then keeps growing further. Windows 11 v26H1 is the first platform to straight up start at a massive size over 2.5 GB, where every previous platform started well below 500 MB.

Here's Windows 10's graph. Note the sudden drop with 1809 and how it grows slower. Also note that the Y axis goes up to 2 GB, the Windows 11 chart goes up to 5 GB.

The article is sorely missing a graph.
You know what's the worst thing? Starting with Windows 10 v1809, the size of updates fell of a cliff. A trend that continued up to 23H2. 24H2 started good, then jumped the shark.
But is it really AI's fault?
Windows 11 updates keep getting bigger, and AI gets blamed for it, but that’s not the real problem.
The deeper issues behind update bloat say a lot more about how Windows is built today and where Microsoft needs to focus next.
Our Windows and PC expert @EcceCale takes a deep dive into the size of Windows Updates and what's really going on lately.

The web version of the Microsoft Store now allows you to create "Multi-app installs". The 48 apps divided over these 6 categories so far seem to be the only ones supported.

Microsoft's set of colored Fluent Icons is now up to 179. 3 months ago there were only 70 icons.

Microsoft appears to be in the early process of creating colored versions of the Fluent system icons.
For now, these are all the ones that are publicly available in the Fluent iconography project on Figma.

I for one think it's hilarious that we have an image from Microsoft showcasing dark mode on Windows 95, before we get proper dark mode support for these dialogs on Windows 11, now 8 year after introducing that feature in the first place.

10 years ago, the then unnamed "Slow Ring" was the only Ring that existed.
Today, the rebranded "Beta Channel" celebrates its 10th anniversary as the only channel still on 23H2. Every other channel - including the LTSC - is on 24H2 or later.

After a few days of absence, the redesign has returned, and the ads in the "Monthly" section are now gone again, leaving an empty void.

Microsoft has begun rolling out a major update to the Weather app. Don't worry, your favorite ads are still there! Better yet, you'll now get even more!

Microsoft has spent the past decade to erode trust in Windows 10 and 11, trust it now so desperately needs.
This is the result of years of forcing people to use Microsoft Accounts on Windows, forcing MSN in every app it could no matter if it made sense, etc.
The narrative around Windows Recall has snowballed into a major PR disaster. People don't trust Microsoft, and that means features like Recall aren't welcome in the eyes of many Windows users.

.@TeamYouTube, the best time to remove Sssniperwolf from your platform was Friday night, when she showed up to our home, filmed and posted a live video of our house to her 5M+ Instagram followers while my wife and I were inside, and dared me to come out.
The second best time is now.
I've sent video evidence to the appropriate channels and am happy to share directly with you. This is a clear example of doxxing and a clear violation of your policy stated here.
I'm aware you are looking into the situation, but this is a black-and-white case that holds dangerous implications if it goes unchecked. Please act now and remove this channel from your platform.
