I'm that guy behind @ChangeWindows. I'll talk (and complain) about Windows on a regular basis.

Rebuilt the editor with Win UI 3... ...but the gallery itself is now a separate web app and you're flipping between 2 entirely different apps to do what previously could be done in one. This has got to be a joke.
Rebuilt from the ground up with WinUI 3, the native Editor is organized around those photo-editing workflows, making it easier to move from an idea to an edit!

AI makes people stupid. Case in point; the CEO of Microsoft thinks an app is an OS.
We’re building Copilot as a new OS for work that spans every model, every form factor, and every task. Today, we’re announcing our biggest update to Copilot to date, bringing four things together: · Autopilot: proactive and long-running agent built for the enterprise · Code: build apps with Copilot, hosted inside your company’s tenant · Home: Chat + Cowork together · Office: now fully embedded in Copilot (and Copilot embedded in Office, of course!) Plus, you can invoke Copilot in Teams, and we’re introducing Today, a proactive experience that surfaces the most important information from across M365 without needing to ask for it. The way we work is changing and so are our workflows. This update brings AI into that flow, from answering a question, to building an app, to getting work done on your behalf.

iPad mini should get the iPhone Duo interface instead of iPadOS.

Windows 11 is getting an inbox Auto Dark Mode feature! Recent Experimental 26xxx builds include various strings for it, you can set sunset to sunrise or fixed hours and have the mode only change when the PC is idle. Strings below:

Look, working for years on something and then having someone else spoil it to you sucks. But not sure "not how we intended for you to see the game" is a good way to put it when your intention is "we want you to get a Netflix subscription to watch a trailer".

I'm taking back all my criticisms about Microsoft's lacking Fluent Design documentation.
Celebrating small wins is hardwired into "Achieve," our goal-tracking sample app. We wanted the simple act of checking off a task to feel like a celebration. Instead of the standard #Material ripple, we used Styles to drop in a custom, high-contrast completion animation—specifically, a brand-colored ring that expands and fades on tap, paired with a subtle pressed-state gradient. It lets us focus entirely on polishing those custom, rewarding micro-interactions while Material handles the foundation. #GoogleDesign #MaterialDesign #JetpackCompose #AndroidDev #UXDesign #InteractionDesign

"quietly" doing some heavy lifting here, since every account has to go through this rather explicit screen to opt-in. But never let truth stand in the way of that sweet advertisement cash, he @NeowinFeed.

On it's own, I guess this is pretty well done... ...but as part of a larger website? I really don't get what Microsoft is doing. Every section - hell, even across pages within the same section - Microsoft's website changes design again and again. It's ridiculously inconsistent.
Proud to announce we’re live with the latest version of Windows for Microsoft: microsoft.com/en-us/windows?… A massive step for the agency, and an incredible effort from everyone involved.  An honour to be trusted with such a big brand and we're thrilled with the outcome!

Because Microsoft's branding just absolutely sucks.

Also, this is Microsoft's official clear space guideline for the Windows logo. Yes they used the logo as a clear space guide, very normal. Yes, none of these logos actually match the size of the logo and are in fact distorted (added lines to show difference).

The new @Firefox UI they are testing is horrendous. Aside from the waste of space by adding thick borders everywhere, throwing your cursor against the top of the screen doesn't allow you to drag the window anymore. Throwing it into the upper right corner doesn't close anymore.

They broke every hot corner and border every Windows app has had forever. Who thought this was a good idea?
