So BBC Three, Scotland and R4 Extra are going. We are watching the death by a thousand cuts of a great British institution.
From major sporting events, to national celebrations, the BBC has a unique ability to bring the country together. But, successive Governments have left our BBC in a state of managed decline.
@LibDems are calling for a permanent charter to end this cyclical uncertainty hanging over the BBC’s future and protect it for generations to come.
Once the BBC is gone, it is gone for good. It's time we made the choice to save it.

This is your reminder to go outside and take a walk. If you live in an area where the leaves are changing, imagine the colors flossing the noise—the wasted language and images—from your brain, and thank me later.

“Nature is an endless combination and repetition of a very few laws. She hums the old well-known air through innumerable variations.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882), “History”, from “Essays: First Series” (1842).

ALT A collage of nine close-up photographs exploring natural patterns and textures. Images include spiralling rosettes of colourful succulents, intricately veined and patterned green leaves, an agave with white-edged leaves, knobbly mottled vegetable surfaces and deeply cracked tree bark. Repeating shapes, curves, symmetry and contrasting colours reveal the intricate beauty of nature.

The UK government intends to spaff away £22 billion on carbon capture machines. A massive wealth transfer of taxpayers’ money to major corporations. Plant more trees instead - the most natural, cost effective, long lasting, beautiful carbon capture machine of them all. 🌳

Somehow, the world feels like a better place now that I know that a gathering of ladybirds is called a 'loveliness'. So here's a loveliness of ladybirds on a twinklement of stained glass at St. Mary's, Brownshill, Gloucestershire.

Use cash locally.
Every card swipe sends a cut to a bank and a data trail to a corporation. Cash doesn’t. It stays in the shop, pays the staff and circulates on your high street instead of vanishing into fees and algorithms. No tracking. No outages. No middleman. Spend it where you live. Keep the money where it matters - in your own community.

✨ It wasn’t until I first saw the Saxon crypt at St Wystan’s, Repton, that I understood John Betjeman’s words: ‘Holy air encased in stone.’ I’ve never felt the past so close, or found such comfort in feeling rooted in a longer story. A real hidden gem, a must see.
