At Easter and with this recent shoe shine event in Beijing, I think of Jimmy, @SupportJimmyLai - At every turn the CCP tried to buy Jimmy Lai, as did some tycoons. Each attempt rebuffed.
The boss often wondered aloud how greedy did men & women like Evan Greenberg, Tim Cook, even Musk, have to be to shoe shine dictators. For what? More money. Didn’t they understand FU money?
Now, I am lucky. JL put me in the spot to fight back. So, while in a much smaller status, I share his question of what makes others covet material wants so greatly they would abide a tyrant like Xi,
but while Jimmy would feel sorry for these men. I do not.

In Easter Week I pray for all those who suffer repression, but we also need to remember those who support and enable that repression.
