There are more and more INDX builds taking shape out in the community, and we want to see them. And share them. We will call it INDX in the Wild. So, from now on, we’ll regularly put the spotlight on the printers, builds and people running INDX out in the wild. First up is Steve. If you know your Vorons, you probably know the name. Steve is the designer of the Voron Trident, and this is his own INDX integration on a Trident R2 250. Six tools, some seriously tidy PTFE routing and spool management to match. Not a bad way to start the series. Got INDX running on your machine? Show us what you’ve built. Your setup might be next. #indx #bondtechindx #indxinthewild #3Dprinting #3DprintingCommunity

Replying to @joeltelling
I'm in the Seattle area @joeltelling I tried giving away some Mercury One printers, a couple Bambu's, V2.4 350 and various others including a couple resin printers a while back using FB Marketplace. Got jerked around for a week by multiple people who never showed up. I reached out to the local school district, a couple schools directly and they had zero interest so I dropped all them at the e-recycle facility in Marysville. And yes, I briefly thought about giving them to friends/family but then I become 24/7 tech support and, unfortunately, I don't have the time for that :-( The last time I was successful in giving away printers was when I took 26 extra printers to 3DPrintopia (ERRF) a couple years ago and almost all the people helping vendors unload (@Steve_Builds refused to take any home) scooped up all of them in a matter of minutes. Unfortunately the cost of hauling a trailer load of printers to RMRRF or 3dPrintopia is just not feasible.

The ACLU just informed me that it’s very uncommon and very much not protocol, but you can go up and let your voice be heard in the appropriations committee in the Senate. So that’s what we’re gonna do. See you Monday. luma.com/xy5c2d2j

Why are we so upset about bill AB 2047? It allows for a company partnered with the biggest AI surveillance company, Palantair, access to your system. I want a safer world just like you. This is not the way.

Thangs is proud to be part of a diverse coalition of innovators, creators, and privacy advocates that oppose California's AB2047, which would mandate surveillance technology on 3D printers. Thangs' CEO Marleen Vogelaar, along with other 3D printing leaders, was interviewed by the LA Times and discussed the potential wide-ranging implications of this bill for the industry. 1/ "Innovation dies when Patents win", BUT it also dies when innovators can't thrive because their work just lines someone else's pocket. That's the whole INDX debate in one sentence. There are no easy answers here, & anyone who thinks there are hasn't sat in both seats.
With INDX now shipping, we want to gently remind the cheap knock-offs surfacing on the market that INDX was invented by Bondtech and is protected by both pending applications and granted patents, with three separate patent families covering: i) a longitudinal opening in the toolhead and auto-separating feeding wheels, allowing the nozzle to be swapped with the filament still inside to completely eliminate the need for purging; ii) the selective picking of passive nozzles from a rack and using contactless temperature regulation of the passive nozzle; and iii) a pivotable feeding-wheel mechanism that dynamically scales the gripping force on the filament in direct response to feeding resistance. We kindly ask the community to support original innovation by not promoting or purchasing any unauthorized copies. Because we are committed to protecting our R&D and our partners, our lawyers stand ready to commence enforcement the moment copycat products hit the market. This means that copycat products may face sudden sales or import restrictions, potentially leaving buyers without product, support, updates, or replacement parts. We would hate to see anyone in the community left out of pocket or with unusable hardware, so please do think twice before backing a copycat.
