🎯🎯This was observed in Valencia and Alicante during Storm #Adam last 24 hours , when residents across the Valencian Community were advised to stay indoors. Those flood events were communicated and warned on my page weeks ahead-using a statistical analog ensemble analysis! ⏭️⏳🚨Here is another potential scenario to watch for in early December 2026 : a similar pattern could recur, potentially affecting areas further inland across eastern Spain -should my tentative estimates hold and materialize on the real observed universe. 📌 Bookmark this video. I will share more maps and updated analyses as we get closer to #December. This is an early probabilistic outlook, not a a deterministic forecast.
Probably I should seek employment/work with @AEMET_esp sometime soon, if they're willing to hire me :)

#Corsica Island floods. More than 200 mm of rainfall in reasonably short time.
🚨⛈️ As forecasted: France 🇫🇷 has experienced record-breaking torrential rainfall across the southeastern part of the country over the past 5- 24 hours , record breaking denotes exceptional torrential rainfall & drenches with high density within a short periods of time . 🚨Further episodes of torrential rainfall remain possible over the coming days, potentially continuing through 24 October, the end of the current forecast period. No images of flooded areas have emerged yet on X. ⏳⏲️Looking further ahead, central France could also be at risk of additional heavy rainfall in the coming weeks. Please refer to my other forecasts for November, which highlight the combined influence of terrain, atmospheric convection, and synoptic-scale weather systems in driving these rainfall events. Be safe!🙏 Mr. M @Statisticizer

⚡️🚨🌪️🌊 After the current storm #Adam in the Mediterranean western basin, numerical weather prediction models are now hinting at another Mediterranean storm developing around the middle of the final third of October, with the potential to evolve into a hurricane-like structure known as a #medicane close to southern #Italy and #Libya coastlines. Interestingly, this emerging signal aligns with my statistical analog forecasts, which highlighted the possibility weeks before numerical weather prediction models began capturing the same patterns. To me, this reinforces the idea that the atmosphere has a memory—a tendency for certain weather patterns to recur when the necessary ingredients and underlying conditions come together. Atmospheric configurations leave their imprints in the climate system, and when similar conditions re-emerge, these patterns can be born again and again across time. This is the fundamental idea behind my statistical analog forecasting approach: the past is not simply a record of weather events; it can also provide clues to the atmospheric patterns that may unfold in the future. The coming model updates will be crucial in determining the system's potential track, intensity, and whether it could develop genuine medicane characteristics. It is still too early to confirm its eventual evolution, but this is a situation worth monitoring closely especially GFS, ECWMF and CMC models agree on its evolution from now. 🚨Also, to note that Black sea Medicanes can also happen northern Turkiye with published previous destructive events known in history . #Mediterranean #Medicane #WeatherForecast #StormAdam
🌦️ Another Statistical-analog ensemble Perspective on the Weather Across the Central and Eastern Mediterranean Over the Next 10-15 Days Both digital and operational models are beginning to pick up on the potential for enhanced convection across the central Mediterranean, with rainfall projections gradually increasing, albeit still somewhat cautiously. The left card is another analog-based ensemble for the final decade of October ( 18_31 October) from @Pyreweather weather maps analyses, and it is a third source that suggested possible Mediterranean storminess in central and eastern mediterranean sea parts the remainder of the month. Caution is needed BECAUSE #medistorms / #medicanes are possible evolutions based on the statistical analog ensemble analyses and upper atmospheric layers wind anomalies analogous analyses, indeed the wind anomalies are conducive of a clockwise rotating system that does not go to the lower atmospheric levels after 18 October- from an analog perspective, but who know what would happen on the real universe? 🚨Sea of Sardinia and North african lan are most affected with surface wind. As confidence builds, the upcoming model runs and updates may reveal a more pronounced rainfall signal across these regions. The next few updates will be worth watching closely! 👀

🔴🚨 Euro-Mediterranean Flood Risk Forecast ( 10-24 October) . The attached four cards show the predicted normalized rainfall probabilities for the period 10–24 October. For this analysis, I am trialing, for the first time, data from a new reanalysis service, Pyreweather (pyreweather.org) , combined with statistical downscaling and an analog ensemble approach. The analog ensemble consists of 18 modern-era seasons since 1950 that may approximate the current season in terms of multivariate and structural climatic characteristics. The attached cards cover the following periods: • 10–14 October • 15–18 October • 18–20 October • 21–24 October In the cards, the 🔴 red-highlighted regions enclosed within ⬛️black boxes indicate areas estimated to have an elevated potential for episodes of torrential rainfall when considering the analog predicted normalized rainfall estimates for the given periods . Such events may generate substantial surface-water runoff and increase the potential for flooding, particularly in low-lying areas, valleys, river basins, and locations with inadequate rainfall drainage. These are probabilistic model estimates rather than deterministic predictions, and the highlighted areas should therefore be interpreted as regions of potentially elevated rainfall and runoff risk rather than as precise forecasts of specific flood events. Use these forecasts along your local meteorological and numerical weather prediction models to anticipate flood risk. NB/ The normalized propensities of rainfall are preferred here to identify the regions with maximum predicted rainfall cumulative rainfall within the specified periods . Hoping this prediction will succeed and be useful for people in affected regions ( nominated in the comments) . 🔴🙏Kindly share those forecasts ♻️, early warnings save lives and porterty! warmest regards Mr. M. @Statisticizer

🚨The Polar Vortex stretching/elongation associated with a Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) over the Arctic is beginning to materialize, with signals pointing towards early November — as anticipated in my forecasts published four months ago, based on solar space weather, magnetospheric activity, and atmospheric parameters . 🔎 Check the comments for links to the original forecasts and analyses.
The Polar Vortex is about to take a big hit 🌀📉 After a short boost to 22 m/s around Oct 24, both ECMWF and GFS show a sharp deceleration, with 10mb zonal winds dropping to 8–10 m/s by early November. That’s below the 1958–2025 record minimum for the date. At the same time, the GEFS extended range forecast is completely clueless about what's going on, and as usual, exhibits a positive bias. #PolarVortex #Stratosphere

A split Polar Vortex in early November? 👀 The latest ECMWF 00z shows two vortex cores/lobes at 10mb, over northern Eurasia and Canada, with a wave-2 ridge cutting in-between. The same pattern reaches down to 50mb, so it’s not just an upper-level feature, but it is actually an upward-propagating event from the lower levels. Both ECMWF and GFS push 60°N/10mb winds below the historical minimum (5–11 m/s by Nov 4-5). Even the GEFS extended mean, with its usual strong-SPV bias, is trending weaker in the latest available data. Images by our author @Recretos #PolarVortex #Winter2026

JUST IN: France appears to have just broken its national 1-hour, 2-hour, and 3-hour rainfall records, pending official confirmation. Solenzara, on the island of Corsica, has recorded a jaw-dropping 380 mm (15 inches) of rain since 9 a.m.

🧵 2026–2027 Winter Signal: Fast Eurasian Snow Advance & Early Stratospheric Coupling ❄️ 📊1/4 Eurasian Snow Expansion (Nov–Jan): Our 20-analog ensemble points to a classic Fast Eurasian Snow Advance (SAI). Notice the rapid equatorward snow expansion from Siberia into Central Europe, East Asia, and the Zagros/Middle East and North Africa as well as Iberian Peninsula by January and possibly intensified snow advance into SW europe and North African territory during February . Early ground snowpack acts as a powerful thermal radiator, cooling the continent and building an expansive, robust Siberian High. 2/4 Atmosphere-Land Coupling Mechanism: Rapid autumn snow advance increases land-sea thermal contrasts, generating strong upward vertical planetary wave activity into the stratosphere. This upward energy transfer acts like a mechanical hammer striking the Stratospheric Polar Vortex early in the season. 3/4 Early November SSW & Polar Vortex Stretch: Building on this setup, my predictions target an early Sudden Stratospheric Warming event during the first dekad of November, accompanied by significant polar vortex elongation and stretching (see previous analysis: xitter.cf/Statisticizer/status/2…). 4/4 Winter Downward Impact: An early vortex disruption coupled with a high snow advance signal strongly favors downward propagation into a negative Arctic Oscillation and negative North Atlantic Oscillation phase later in winter. Expect enhanced high-latitude blocking over Greenland and Scandinavia, alongside displaced southern storm tracks that open the door for Arctic air intrusions across Eastern and Central Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Levant by mid-to-late winter.
