At Standups.io we are happy to help anyone with setting a basic process of communication for companies moving to WFH during this crisis. Send us a DM or a live chat message on our website, and our team will be happy to jump on a call to see how we can help.

A different approach that might be a very useful feature for a lot of verticals is short async video messages Awesome work @StandupsHQ standups.io/ – at New Delhi, India

Whoop whoop! Curing meeting fatigue is only part 1! It's also a driver for inter-team creativity and bonding. Wake up each day excited to see Emma's dog or Colin's jokes on your time. Mimics the expressions and personality that's prevalent in an office.

We are remote since our conception. We eat our own dog food, from the Bay Area to Spain to Germany, and live the challenges of remote work ourselves every day. You can't build a remote-focused platform from one office space, where you as a team don't go through the challenges.

Thanks Steve 💪 What you can do with standups.io to replace recurring (or one-off "update") meetings is: • Create a room • Invite a person/team • Post stories to communicate asynchronously *on your own time* via web or mobile Stories are saved and searchable too!

Zoom fatigue is real. When teams go remote, many teams' first instinct is to "re-create the office online" However, most communication does not need to happen in real-time We've replaced most of our meetings internally using standups.io: xitter.cf/arjawn/status/12632871…
I just finished my third day of back to back to back meetings in Zoom / Google Meet. I feel like I’ve gone 12 rounds. These meeting marathons are not actually productive or good for mental health! How do you avoid this problem and set boundaries?

SO SO TRUE. At @StandupsHQ we have a no acronyms policy too! 👇🏼
From time to time, Elon Musk will send out an e-mail to the entire company to enforce a new policy or let them know about something that's bothering him. One of the more famous e-mails arrived in May 2010 with the subject line: Acronyms Seriously Suck

Totally. In Germany, the govt announced they're studying giving people the right to work from home if they want to and if their job is possible to be done from home, which is amazing. It will push other big govts to do the same. This is only starting. And it's here to stay.

“Everyone who wants to & whose job allows it should be able to work in a home office, even when the corona pandemic is over... We are learning how much work can be done from home... We want to enable more home working, but not force it” - German Labor Minister Hubertus Heil

Remote work has passed through the first 2 stages of Gandhi's model for change: "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win" Old habits die hard. The more entrenched, the harder they die. The world is flat right up until the day it's round

Here's a summary! 1. Create a morning routine 2. Overcommunicate 3. Keep regular hours and manage breaks 4. Be involved and proactive 5. Use the right tools To add to #2: sending short video updates (like an Insta Story) with Standups.io is a fun way to do this!

Async communication is a secret hidden in plain sight As @photomatt says, if done well it allows, "A beautiful baton exchange." (Japan's secret to relay success in the 2016 Olympics) We see the power async video & voice in the Story style every day at standups.io ✨

FAQs are an underestimated form of documentation 1. They're inherently oriented towards the user, since each question is phrased as if a user themself asked it 2. They grow organically, each new addition a little patch to a spot where the documentation was found to "leak"
