Back in the early 2000s the Yankees were the absolute villains and the team you had to beat to compete for a World Series. Most fans expected them to win a couple more championships just like they did in the late 90s, especially with ARod

🚨DHS is already lying about Border Patrol’s illegal actions in Charlotte, NC.
After video exposed agents assaulting a U.S. citizen, DHS claimed the man “refused lawful commands.”
Except… those commands weren’t lawful at all.
This man was racially profiled twice.
The first time, he showed his ID and agents left.
Then, when he returned to his car with food, a second group of agents approached him without any legal basis.
Here are the laws Border Patrol violated:
👉Fourth Amendment
Agents cannot detain someone without reasonable suspicion. Sitting in a parking lot, with takeout, is not a crime… and appearance alone is not reasonable suspicion.
👉No Warrant, No Probable Cause
They had no warrant, no probable cause, and no articulable suspicion of any crime or immigration violation.
Without that, they cannot order someone out of their vehicle.
So their “commands” were not lawful.
👉Illegal Detention & Excessive Force
Because the stop was unconstitutional, everything that followed was too… including:
• breaking his car window
• ripping him out of the vehicle
• assaulting him
• detaining him without legal justification
This is exactly the kind of conduct the Supreme Court says violates the Fourth Amendment.
And DHS claiming the man was “trying to distract agents,” when agents approached HIM, is beyond laughable.
It’s a cover story… and a bad one.

There are violent extremists on the left but they are not in charge of the party. You can find them on social media, not in the halls of power.
The violent extremists on the right are in congress, on courts, and sitting in the Oval Office.
Every single major Democratic politician condemned the murder of Charlie Kirk.
Meanwhile, before EVEN KNOWING WHO THE SHOOTER WAS, the Republican president gave a speech calling for VIOLENCE against Democrats.
There are masked thugs running through the streets dragging people out of cars at gunpoint.
There was an attempted violent coup at the Capitol building brought on by the President himself.
Hell he threatened to INVADE an American city FOUR DAYS AGO.
I’m genuinely sad the man died. Not because I agreed with a word he said but because he was a misguided person who was himself caught up in the culture of violence.
He deserved to be shouted down for his backward ideas, not murdered.
The most sickening part of this whole ordeal is the excitement you see in Republicans, how quickly they moved past any respect for the dead, any reflection on the environment they helped foster, straight into who should be murdered next.
THEY DON’T EVEN KNOW WHO THE SHOOTER IS, yet they are ignoring the obvious marks of a professional killer who clearly had a highly trained military background, and the fact that these guys tend to be right wing nut jobs with an obscure axe to grind.
But they’ve already given him (and we all know it’s a him not a her) an identity: the faceless embodiment of everything they hate and fear with a clearly coordinated messaging campaign to call him a “leftist.”
So it’s clear what they want and it’s not peace. They want a justification for more violence. They want a bloody shirt they can point to and say, “See? THIS is why there are thugs in the streets in masks pulling people from cars at gunpoint. THIS is why we must end the American experiment in democracy.”
And the most pathetic part of all is that none of it is necessary. Violent crime is down. Everywhere. This is all INVENTED. And it was done so to protect the pursuit of power of one man: a dim-witted child rapist who became a violent extremist simply because selling his dark vision of America was the only way his corrupt, soulless ass could stay out of jail.

I've debated back and forth about tweeting this for a couple of weeks now but ultimately decided I needed to vent. I understand completely that my, and the overall fan opinion, is, and in most cases, should be, meaningless to an organization's decision makers. However, there are some cases where fan sentiment and emotion should play a role in personnel decisions. Pete Alonso's future with this franchise is one of those decisions. He is a rare & prolific power hitter, a class act all the way, a homegrown talent and a fan favorite. Trading him away not only alienates the fan base and breaks the hearts of countless fans who love him, it also sends a very unappealing message to future members of this team. What more could he have done to earn the franchise's trust and be extended as a Met for life? He plays every day, he is a staple in the community and he wears the blue and orange with pride and class. If you don't find him worthy of being a Met for life, who should be? I understand the business of the game and the long term vision of the GM may not always align with fan sentiment, but there are times when the right thing to do is not solely based on wins and losses. This is one of those times. One day in the future the number 20 should be hanging in the rafters and anything less is a disservice to this wonderful fan base.
