It's time for the yearly music roundup. As is usual, I'll start with Malayalam (and cover the rest over the coming week), that continues to give some of the best tracks across Indian films. Naturally, I was spoilt for picks yet again. #Malayalam2025 #MusicRoundup2025 It was the year of Justin Varghese and Jakes Bejoy, who delivered at least two great soundtracks each. My top picks for the soundtracks, in order, are 1) Justin Varghese's Paka, 2) Jakes Bejoy's Lokah: Chapter 1: Chandra, 3) Justin Varghese's Painkili, 4) Justin Prabhakaran's Hridayapoorvam, and 5) Justin Varghese's Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira. Now counting down the tracks of the year. 30. Oru Pakalin Idavazhiyil ("Raveendra Nee Evide", Prakash Ulliyeri) 29. Kanmathi Kankalil ("Janaki v/s State of Kerala", Girish Narayanan) 28. Arikil Etho Novin ("Machante Maalakha", Ouseppachan) 19. Kaadhal Ponmaan ("Nellikkampoyil Night Riders", Vishnu Vijay) 18. Kollam Pattu ("Ponman", Justin Varghese) 17. youtu.be/fZZf0215jcs?si=sWjy… I've spent the past five-ish months transcribing and dissecting Raja-sir's symphony, and now I have an 84-minute video for you! By far my most ambitious analysis till date and I am very nervous putting it out. Just my small tribute to a masterpiece!!

The album might create a buzz if it’s released on streaming though. Grand music launch event alone doesn’t help I guess.

Been looping #BethlehemKudumbaUnit songs since last week. So, decided to showcase an under-appreciated aspect of composer Vishnu Vijay's songs - his use of children's chorus. Thread⬇️

Vishal Chandrashekhar and Sinduri Vishal had big shoes to fill in and they’ve delivered so well. The soundtrack of Jagamae Sangeetham is as rich and diverse as Bandish Bandits (which it seems to be adapted from) by SEL. Particularly the choice of singers, from Sharreth to an array of young classical singers. open.spotify.com/album/3wdQX…

Lovely song, based on Madhava Mamava. GV Prakash adds his touches wonderfully, in the chorus and in the outro. The other song (that is surprisingly not sung by Saindhavi) Uyire Uyire is also lovely. They released the good ones with the movie! music.apple.com/in/album/paa…
