As individuals throughout the UK enjoy their weekend, the same can't be said for lecturers in Scotlands Colleges.
Deeming - the 100% reduction in salary commenced for @EISFela
The reason for the deduction, for taking part in legally obtained ASOS : Action Short of Strike.
As such lecturers will have 100% deduction of salary per day, including at the weekend.
Employers are using anti trade union tactics, to withhold all money, for not carrying out 1% of the job. This has resulted in increased anxiety, stress, financial strain & hardship,

FE lecturers are defending their professional conditions and the integrity of the FE system. They deserve our support and the minister should get off the fence and stop acting as an observer and more like someone who is responsible for such an important part of our economy.

Young people receiving results should be incredibly proud of all they have achieved.
Whether it's university, training or work there's loads of support available for their next steps.
It's my mission to break down barriers to opportunity so all our young people can thrive.

Brilliant analysis of the reality behind the A level results and what Labour should be doing about it.

Replying to @JohnSwinney @scotgov
I am being ‘deemed’ by my principal. First day back at college and getting no pay, How can this be acceptable to you and our government. Please do the right thing, step up and sort this out.
The HMRC states that "a deduction cannot normally reduce your pay below the National Minimum Wage".
@theSNP @GraemeDeyMSP
Yet it is acceptable that lectures deemed 100% of their salary for not completing 1% of their job role?
Families plunged into hardship.
Is this fair?

Absolutely shameful that colleges across Scotland are deducting up to 100% from lecturers wages as punishment for taking part in “action short of strike action”. This is not “fair work” and the Scottish Government must intervene.
From tomorrow, I'm not getting paid as a college lecturer. I'm getting docked 100% pay for participating in industrial action which involves me not doing less than 1% of my role. This is a de facto lockout and something not seen since Thatcher. #collegelockout #saveFE

This is what is going on in Scotland’s college sector - where are @GraemeDeyMSP and @JennyGilruth ?

It is outrageous what is going on in Scotland’s College Sector - the Ministers in charge are a disgrace - they are completely absent - they have no understanding of how colleges change lives

Scotland's colleges face disaster. “It appears that both College Employers Scotland and the Scottish Government are so bloody-minded that they would rather see the college sector collapse than engage in meaningful negotiations.” scotsman.com/news/opinion/th…

Disappointed & dismayed to hear lecturers across Scotland are being deemed 100% of their salary by colleges.
As part of strike action, lecturers overwhelmingly voted to take part in legally obtained ASOS.

Stood on the sideline & failed to intervene.
In addition silence from much of the media.
Colleges are underfunded.
Staff are being cut.
Courses cut.
Working class education eroded & staff fighting for fair pay for 2 years.
Is this fair work?
