Gently lower him to the ground, perhaps with a nice fluffed pillow and a mint underneath?

She says "people talk about size", and I was just listening to a pod you recorded in mid July when you were saying the Lynx didn't have enough size to take on the Liberty. Talk about prescient.
Hey @WNBA, your Google TV app’s "Hide Scores" toggle hides the final score but leaves "NYL leads 1-0" plastered across the screen. You hid the math but explicitly spoiled the game outcome. Please patch this for tape-delay viewers!

That's not the same as a cultural footprint though.

This is impressive overall, but the tear running down her cheek looks surprisingly bad.

You even said a little later, as I continue to listen to the podcast, that two people writing together is often better than one. But you didn't link it back to how your guest had explained why she refuses to let an LLM contribute verbiage to her own writing.

It is that collaboration that in my experience improves my own writing. Nothing wrong with a partnership between human and AI where the human is still the editor in chief, the one with final cut. (FWIW, I did not consult an LLM when crafting these tweets.)

But I was frustrated by Collier saying people come to her work for her own writing and if they want Claude's writing they can just ask Claude. This is the fallacy of the excluded middle. They can't ask Claude for the collaboration between Collier and Claude.

I was so hyped for this, both because I use Gemini to help with my own writing but also because I'm so fascinated by what you described as the "ritually unclean" phenomenon among the creative class.

FWIW, I have read both The Iliad and the Odyssey in their entirety and recently read Stephen Fry's retelling.

It's unfair and frankly intellectually lazy to claim as you did on the podcast that people who say Lupita is not hot enough are ipso facto being racist. Sade in her prime was a 10. Lupita is an 8. Nice looking woman to be sure, but not beautiful enough to be Helen.
I consider it perfectly legitimate to wish they had cast only actors who plausibly look Greek. But NB, that also applies to Matt Damon and Tom Holland!
The other problem with Lupita Nyong'o as Helen of Troy is that she is an 8, in a role that inherently requires a 9.5+.

It has been a trend for people to say this for decades but not an actual trend in terms of something that really happened.

It's the opposite, Miracle Whip was created as a cheap (nasty IMO) alternative to mayo and then they later started scamming customers by charging just as much for it.

My neighbor, who has told me she has trouble paying the rent for her studio apartment on time, had her DoorDasher accidentally come to my door the other day. Standing there was a man with a single item in his hand: a small, mostly melted DQ Blizzard. 🤦♂️
I eat rice and beans or pasta and vegetables at almost every meal and it taste good to me. I was in jail once and the food was definitely worse than that.

Subway is a terrible example, their prices have gone up so much. The Taco Bell value menu is still pretty cheap.

That's great if you have the money. But there seems to be some kind of argument being made that poor people deserve to be subsidized to get takeout or delivery every day.

I actually don't claim that the simple meals I make from scratch are better than what's served in a restaurant. But I also don't bankrupt myself by living in a fancy hotel because it's too basic and boring to live in my one bedroom apartment. I don't see how this is different.
