This morning, Sen. Harding joined host Gary Byron on The Talk of Connecticut to discuss a proposed 11% electricity rate hike from one of Connecticut’s largest utility companies. The hardworking people in our state are already stretched thin. They shouldn’t have to worry about keeping the lights on.
During the 2026 Legislative Session, Senate Republicans put forward a proposal to eliminate Public Benefits Charges from your electric bill and lower electricity rates, but it was voted down on party lines. Connecticut residents deserve better. Listen to the interview to hear more.

🌾🚜 SUPPORT CT FARMERS
“We are taxing the people who feed us out of business.” – Sen. Heather Somers (R)
CT Senate Republicans are calling on Gov. Lamont and CT Democrats to stand with us and support our farmers. We’ve been advocating for a tax credit program for months. It’s time to act now!
CT’s farmers are struggling. Many have spent generations working on their family farms, feeding our communities, and sustaining our state’s agricultural industry. CT’s affordability crisis is pushing them to the breaking point.
If Gov. Lamont won’t support our tax credit for farmers, we are calling on him to release $20 million in immediate relief from the Emergency Relief Fund the legislature approved earlier this year. It’s time for the governor and CT Democrats to stand up for these hardworking residents.

⛽️Connecticut has become one of the least affordable states in the nation under one-party Democratic rule. We rank 2nd in the country for electricity costs and have had the 3rd-highest property taxes for 3 straight years.
Senator Harding joined NBC CT’s Face the Facts with Mike Hydeck to make the case for immediate tax relief, including a suspension of CT’s gas tax. Tune in this Sunday, March 22, at 10:00 a.m. to hear more!

As the 2026 legislative session begins in a few weeks on February 4, Senate Republicans are already hard at work — meeting with constituents, reviewing proposals, and continuing to fight for the people of our state.
Our focus is clear: making Connecticut more affordable for working families and seniors, lowering sky-high electric rates, holding government accountable for every taxpayer dollar, and standing firm against new taxes that make it harder to live and work here. This session, we’ll keep fighting to put people first and move our state in a better direction.

CT Senate Republicans boycotted her re-nomination in April over a corrupt shady backroom deal. That decision looks better than ever.
Did Gov. Lamont push her out? CT deserves answers.

Charlie Kirk carried a steadfast commitment to open and honest debate, a belief in civil public discourse, and a dedication to strengthening our nation through principled dialogue. Beyond his public life, he was a devoted son, husband and father.
His life was taken in a horrific and senseless act of violence. Today, we mourn not only the loss of a courageous voice but also the deep pain felt by his family, friends, and countless Americans who were inspired by his leadership.
May his family find comfort in their cherished memories during this time of profound grief. May Charlie rest in peace, and may our nation find the resolve to end political violence in all its forms.

📚#ICYMI: Yesterday, CT Senate Republicans stood with thousands of homeschooling parents, students, and advocates who came to Hartford to protect educational freedom and push back on new regulatory proposals.
While the Education and Children Committees held a hearing on homeschooling, they refused to hear from the very families impacted. That’s not transparency—and it’s not how government should work. We’ll keep fighting to make sure parents have a voice and a choice. #parentalrights #parentalchoice #connecticut #homeschool #education

Today, in an unprecedented move, the Senate Republican Caucus stood up for the people of Connecticut by walking out of the Senate Chamber to boycott the vote to re-nominate PURA Commissioner Marissa Gillett.
The move by the Senate Republican Caucus is in response to a "backroom deal" made by Governor Lamont, which media reports are calling a potential "quid pro quo" to secure a vote in favor of Gillett in return for offering a paid position on PURA to a current state legislator.
The people of Connecticut deserve transparency, lower electric rates, and the removal of the public benefits charge (a hidden tax). The Senate Republicans will not be complicit in voting for a corrupted process!

State Sen. Stephen Harding sat down with @FOX61News’s Emma Wulhorst on The Real Story to talk about the issues that matter most to Connecticut families and businesses—sky-high electric rates, crushing taxes, and a cost-of-living crisis that’s forcing too many to consider leaving our state.
That’s why Senate Republicans recently launched a ‘Common Sense Solutions’ tour—to get out of the Capitol and listen directly to the people across our state. We’re committed to delivering real, affordable change and look forward to connecting with you. Tour dates will be announced soon!”

Today, CT Republicans called out the Lamont Administration and legislative Democrats for fostering a “culture of corruption” in state government, pointing to a troubling pattern of scandals and mismanagement and waste, fraud, and abuse.
Citing controversies ranging from excessive spending in higher education to a canceled audit and misuse of government resources, CT Republicans called for an expansion in the authority of the state’s Inspector General to ensure adequate accountability among state employees and their managers.

Senate Minority Leader @SenHarding30, said that a pending deal involving an expansion of the state's utility regulators and a sitting state senator is a troublesome example of insider politics. "This is just one thing ... in a line of corruption, waste, fraud and abuse that the governor's office and Senate Democrats and House Democrats have seemingly wanted nothing to do with," Harding said. "This is grand juries indicting individuals. Where is the accountability"

Senate Republicans voted today in favor of giving $92 million to municipalities to fully-fund special education… Senate Democrats voted NO.
We offered an amendment that would fully-fund special education while maintaining the fiscal guardrails, relieving the heavy financial burden on municipalities, and would support special education students and their parents.
Republicans will continue to push for more money for special education and won’t settle for less!📚 #connecticut #specialeducation
