๐จ๐ฎ๐ท๐บ๐ธ Britain's shipping watchdog says ships hit in Hormuz are refusing to report it, and traffic is still 70% below prewar levels
UKMTO logged 12 attacks in its latest week, 10 inside the strait, with one ship lost and two left dead in the water.
Then it admitted the number is wrong: most vessels that get hit aren't calling it in, and reports from other channels can't be verified.
In three cases nobody even knows what happened to the ship.
Owners have a reason to stay quiet. A reported attack means an insurance claim, a war-risk premium hike, and a vessel flagged in every broker's database, so captains take the hit and keep sailing.
The number that cuts through both sides' claims is the 70%.
CENTCOM says it controls the strait and Iran says it's closed, and UKMTO says it can't verify the American escort figures either.
The truth sits in the traffic count: seven months in, seven out of ten ships that used to transit Hormuz still don't, and the ones that do are getting hit at a rate nobody can fully see.

A US national survey found only 3% of adults with Down syndrome had a full-time paid job, not because they canโt work, but because almost nobody will hire them.
This coffee shop is Kopi Kamu in Jakarta. 7 of its 10 employees have Down syndrome, ages 17 to 33. They take orders, brew coffee, serve customers, clean tables. One of them, a 23-year-old named Ikhlas, does latte art. The owner started the program in December 2023 after watching kids with Down syndrome brew coffee at a charity festival and thinking, wait, why donโt they have a real place to do this? Sales grew beyond what he expected.
I looked up what actually happens when companies hire people with disabilities, and the data is hard to argue with. A food company called Carolina Fine Snacks saw turnover collapse from 80% every six months to under 5%. Absenteeism dropped from 20% to under 5%. The non-disabled employees started performing better too. DuPont ran a 30-year study and found disabled employees matched or beat their peers on every metric.
Accenture studied 346 companies in 2023. Businesses leading in disability inclusion had 1.6x more revenue, 2.6x more net income, and double the economic profit of their peers. Every time someone actually runs the numbers on this, the same answer comes back.
In the US, Bitty & Beauโs Coffee, founded by two parents of kids with Down syndrome, started in 2016 with 19 workers in a 500-square-foot shop. Within six months they needed a space ten times bigger. Theyโre now at 18+ locations, 11 states, 450+ employees with intellectual disabilities. Profitable.
80% of people with intellectual disabilities in the US are unemployed. In Europe, only 5 to 13% of adults with Down syndrome hold regular jobs. Indonesia has roughly 300,000 people with Down syndrome. Kopi Kamu employs seven of them.

Ed Sheeran performed at Lincoln Financial Field last night, only two and a half hours later than planned. He cut his show in half after his support acts dropped out in solidarity with Gaza. Apparently, something bad is happening over there.
Anyway, the concert was the most exciting experience since the bank left me on hold for 45 minutes, playing โShape of Youโ on loop. It was amazing when it finally got going. Itโs just a shame we had to wait around forever.
Instead of the opening performances, we got Gaza protests. Strangely, ordinary people donโt find it hard to make a stand like Ed does. They can look at schools and hospitals being bombed and say, โThis is wrong, no matter what Israelโs excuse isโ. Personally, I blame social media.
For a few days, it looked like the tour would be called off, after the other acts realised itโs embarrassing to perform with Ed Sheeran. Luckily, Ed scraped together a replacement band that wouldnโt let genocide get in the way of making a few quid.
When he finally walked out on stage, you couldโve heard a pin drop, if it wasnโt for Tommy Robinson loudly clapping and yelling, โGo on, Ed.โ
While it was brilliant to see the likes of Little Tommy and Boy George, thousands of Edโs fans didnโt turn up. The place was so quiet, it reminded Ed of his busking days, although he played to bigger crowds back then. He was just relieved anyone turned up at all and immediately teared up. He cried for himself like he couldnโt cry for the kids of Gaza. He then addressed the elephant in the room. No, not Lucy Connolly. What the fuck is wrong with you?
Ed made a speech about the Macklemore thing and really spoke from his heart. Well, he read from a teleprompter, but thatโs the same thing when youโre a robot. He sensibly started off with Israelโs excuses and carefully rebranded the genocide as a โconflictโ. He told us that whatโs happening over there is โunjustifiableโ, but wouldnโt say whoโs to blame.
He explained heโs too stupid to understand concepts like war and genocide, which is why he never gets involved in this stuff. He performed a concert for Ukraine just a month after that war started, but he hasnโt figured out Gaza after three years. These things are easier to understand when the victims are white.
Needless to say, Ed was let down by his good friend Macklemore. He honestly had no idea Mack would perform the same songs he performs every time heโs on stage. He certainly didnโt expect him to say โFree Palestineโโthat one came out of the blue.
Ed honestly thought Macklemore would Mackle less. You can imagine his confusion when the other acts turned out to also not be moral vacuums. He thought they were all fake Irish like him, but theyโre actually real Irish. Apparently that means something.
Ed skilfully exonerated himself from blame, insisting he did not make the decision to drop Macklemore. His promoter did, after pressure from Bob Kraft and other billionaires. As the headline act, Ed was powerless in this situation. He couldnโt have walked out, or threatened legal action, or even said, โLook mate, Iโm Ed Sheeran. Youโll do as I say.โ
All of this happened against Edโs will, which is why he didnโt apologise for dropping his friend of 13 years, or even say he disagreed with the decision. He simply called it one of the worst weeks of his life, centring himself as the real victim of genocide.
We all know that Ed and Bob are massive humanitarians, now that they need to rebuild their tattered reputations. Ed cares so much about Palestinian children that he didnโt bother saying which charities โin the regionโ heโs donating to. If he admitted it was the IDF that couldโve got awkward.
To prove he truly cares, Ed dedicated his opening performance of the night to the children of Gaza and then began with โWhen your legs donโt work like they used to beforeโฆโ

Haaretz published the testimony of a reserve major and UAV operator in the Israeli Air Force who commanded a strike cell attached to maneuvering brigades inside Gaza. This is what he had to say:
1) He was involved in the March 23, 2025 paramedic killings in Tel al-Sultan, Rafah and said, "You could clearly tell these were rescue vehicles even as fire was opened on them from the ground. For no apparent reason, the force on the ground charged the convoy. They shot the first vehicle, the medical personnel got out, hid behind the ambulances and begged for their lives, and the soldiers shot them one after another."
2) On how the yellow line was used as an excuse to kill innocent people: "The Palestinians didn't know it existed, and the Air Force wasn't always updated either. From the perspective of a farmer walking onto his own land โ he has no idea he's stepping into an area the IDF suddenly decided is a fire zone. And then all kinds of retroactive justifications started coming up. 'He came for an arms deal.' 'He touched the ground, maybe he's planting an explosive.' To me it looked like they were trying to incriminate people with no intelligence and no proof."
3) On how all morals were lost in Gaza: ""The feeling was that something tore, everyone had already become cynical about death, you can't understand it from the outside. It's not just fatigue, it's an erosion of morality, of responsibility, of the sense that someone is still managing the event. Very quickly this whole business of 'collateral damage' disappeared from the considerations. They fire on anyone they see. The atmosphere started to be like the stands at a soccer match. The way you shout at a player, 'Yalla, score,' that's how they shout at a soldier, 'Kill him, strike him.'"
This is what genocide looks like from the perspective of the perpetrator.

81.5% of Gazans were living in poverty
47% unemployed (62.3% of youth)
71% screened positive for depression
91% of children had PTSD
22,000 orphans
36,142 protesters wounded by Israel in 2018/19
2,000 amputees
$1.6 billion in economic losses annually from Israel's siege alone (half the size of Gaza's entire GDP)
A 20 year-old Gazan had survived 4 Israeli wars & 12 military assaults
Most Gazans had never stepped a foot outside this giant "open air prison" (as UK PM David Cameron called it)
An entire people forsaken, caged, impoverished, traumatised, periodically massacred, made futureless & left to languish & die in the "biggest concentration camp ever created on earth" (as prominent Israeli sociologist Baruch Kimmerling put it).
Showing a single affluent neighbourhood where only the upper class lived is dumb propaganda!
This is what Gaza looked like in October 6th. A paradise where Palestinians could chose to live in peace and prosperity.
Instead, they chose to commit suicide. Destroying their own society by starting a war designed to be lost with heavy civilian casualties. The literal plan was to get as many of their own civilians killed, and especially children, as possible by placing military targets in civilian areas like schools and hospitals. This is a war crime.
The reason Jordan and Egypt wonโt let Palestinians into their countries is this exact kind of suicidal terrorism.
Right of return is a fever dream and must be abandoned. Israelis should not have to live next to cultists that will kill them. Until Palestinians renounce violence, they have chosen their own fate - kept at distance from the people that want to live in peace.
