🚨 Help us save the Fleming Elementary basketball courts! 🏀 These courts are vital to the school - we need to stop the plan to long term lease them to a developer. 🙏

As this school year begins, parents want to know their kids are safe and focused on learning.
While we’re banning cell phones in schools so kids can focus in class, John Rustad is trying to ban textbooks on climate change.
The choice is stark.
Big thanks to @bcndp, @RachnaSinghNDP, and @adriandix for funding Vancouver schools! 🙏 @VSB39 is making progress too. @VanDPAC will keep amplifying parents' voices. 🏫 Don’t miss the @VanDPAC annual general meeting on June 20th at 7 PM. Mark your calendars! 📅 #VanSchools
Today's BC Parent Advisory Council conference & AGM presentation was fantastic! We're growing more confident in supporting parents & caregivers in advocacy. Yet, it's worrying that advocacy for students often falls solely on parents' shoulders. #Parenting #Advocacy #vanpoli

Who will be able to afford these units? And in such a hideous building.

The results are in. 52,428 students for the 2023/24 school year @VSB39. An INCREASE of about 2,200 students since the 2021/22 year. @VSB39's projections for "decrease in future students" is not supported by Ministry data. #VanPACAdvocacy

UPDATE: Mayor Sim and ABC killed my motion to add badly needed housing in Shaughnessy. 😩
So much for taking the housing crisis seriously. So many excuses, so little tangible action from this Council. #VanPoli
We have a lot of work to do in Vancouver to create equitable access to green spaces and resources. Thanks to all those who advocate against injustices and amplify a message of support for marginalized groups, whose voices are frequently overlooked. savebrucefield.com/report

Replying to @eastsidedads
So now we have this. Good idea, badly implemented. Huge land lift, No CAC’s, no water, sewer or infrastructure improvements, no increase in school spaces, no contribution to park improvements, no parking requirements. Density for sake of density with little to no thought
