Yesterday, we gathered the CSI teams in Dorset for a CPD event. The day was full of lots of interesting and useful inputs. The team tested different methods of recovering footwear impressions in sand, wet and dry, which was a challenge but had some great results!

What’s that?
A week to appreciate #PoliceStaff?
I mean we appreciate them all year round, but couldn’t agree more!
So let’s start off with Scenes of Crime Officers.
Doing the forensic work to secure a conviction is honestly priceless!
They really are awesome. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

@SW_Forensics teams were at the scene for weeks and the investigation support has been ongoing for a year. A complex job taking in CSI, submissions, imaging, EOD,Dstl, ballistic science, forensic chemists. Great result.

A man who planned to carry out a series of mass shootings disguised as a police officer has been convicted of firearms and explosives offences.
Reed Wischhusen's plans came to light after he was shot by armed officers when he pointed a gun at them.

BREAKING: forensics are here. Crime scene investigators have set up a tent essentially outside Bobby’s. To recap, a man died following a serious fight last night. Four have been arrested on suspicion of murder @Bournemouthecho @SW_Forensics

We should be clear, the role is more leadership than forensic coordination. Leading teams of CSI's, improving service delivery, individual & team performance, engaging & and representing SWF at divisional & force level. Leadership is a key part of the role.

Crime scene investigators (CSIs) are now taking pictures within the police cordon as an investigation continues. It is still unclear what has happened last night @SW_Forensics @dorsetpolice @Bournemouthecho

Both teams (and many more) are at Bournemouth Crown Court open day today. I popped down whilst working to see the set up, it's great. You can experience mock trials, have your fingerprints made into a key ring, test your driver reactions with beer goggles and loads more!
