Remember today is the Emergency Alerts test.
🚨 A siren-like sound and notification will happen at 3pm on compatible UK mobile phones and tablets.

👏 Huge congrats to our Special Constable of the Year, Graziano! Over 400 volunteer hours, working with Verwood’s NPT, and instrumental in arresting 3 beach predators last summer. A true credit to the force – we’re proud of you! 🏆🫡 #SpecialConstable #Proud #police #dorset

Two #specialconstables from our #Noexcuse Team were on duty last night.
They dealt with a drink driver, an incident where a van lost a shed! Attended two domestic incidents, a damage only traffic incident, then a two vehicle RTC💙 Busy night!

This weekend, some #SpecialConstables were busy training with breathalysers and intoximeters. 🚔 Training is key to their role and career journey. Could you see yourself in our uniform? Recruitment opens soon! 👮♀️👮♂️ #JoinUs #PoliceVolunteers #SpecialConstable #TrainingDay
Last night, a DJ saved my life.
A #SpecialConstable was first on scene at a serious RTC and used their issued tourniquet to save a life. Their quick thinking and swift action highlight the vital role Special Constables play in emergencies.

Welfare for our teams, working at scenes, is absolutely paramount.
We've got an FSV for each of our Regional Forces, and they're deployed regularly to support all forensic teams at crime scenes.

Not a ‘fossil’ alarm for SC Paul today and definitely a blast from the past!
He was dispatched to investigate a potential piece of unexploded ordnance on one of the #JurrasicCoast beaches.
If you find anything that you think may contain explosives call 999.

Today, I met with Mr Deeks, the DCO for @DorsetSpecials and we took our meeting outside! We've got a wonderful outdoors space, in our memorial garden, and what a day for it!? We spoke about strategy and the future 🙌🏼

Who's up for another FREE to attend virtual Crime Scene Coordinator and Crime Scene Manager conference?
What do you want to see or hear about? What don't we share enough? What could we do with hearing more about?
Drop your thoughts in the comments and let's make it happen!

In other news, yesterday I ran my first ever #UltraMarathon. The route traversed Dartmoor from South to North, totalling 48K. It was a great day, very boggy and elevation I can only describe as beastly. Loved it. Recovering today, but looking forward to the next one 🏅

#specialconstable Paul worked a response shift in Purbeck last night, which eventually led him to Verwood for an adult welfare check. The night took an unexpected turn when he looked for two runaway horses. Could you be a special constable.

This post has a 24,000 reach, so you can expect lots of views and opinions, of course.
Speed always seems to attract strong opinions but for me it's great to see the topic being discussed. That's the point of the post.
Interesting to see views on my ability, powers and dress.
Strong words of advice given by Mr Howell, our Chief Officer, to this motorist today. Driver not following the #highwaycode and showed a lack of respect to our #communityspeedwatch colleagues. Speed limits are there to keep people safe, and #specialconstables will do the same.
Getting out, on foot is something I really enjoy and try to do as often as possible.
Taking time to speak to and listen to people is really important.
Whilst in Lulworth we spoke to someone who'd lived there for 40 years and he was pleased to see us.
#lulworthcove is one of Dorset’s many beautiful places.
Yesterday, S/Insp Emma and Chief Officer, Mr Howell, were on foot patrol here. They clocked up some steps and spoke to locals and visitors to the area. #durdledoor

Right place, right time today. One of those occasions where you just hope there's an unmarked car nearby, and today there was and it was me!
