Actual @Scott_Wiener fanboy. Wants to burn the city down. This isn’t surprising for this guy and Scott.

Anthropic helped weaken Scott Wiener’s AI bill. Now it wants to take that playbook to Washington.
We need AI laws written to protect people. I won’t let the companies putting us at risk write their own rules.

Manny Yekutiel says his campaign is “suspended,” not “ended” — a distinction that could determine whether he must return $255,000 in taxpayer funds.

"Chan asked Wiener how he could be trusted to regulate AI when an IE funded in part by Anthropic put up more than $3 million to help him win. Wiener said 'there is no Anthropic money in this race.'

BREAKING🚨
Washington Post has leaked a private list of donors to Trump’s ballroom. On the list is SF crypto billionaire and political megadonor Chris Larsen’s company Ripple Labs with $5m, bringing Larsen’s total Trump donations to $9.9m.

I think Scott Wiener is safe from FEC investigation this year.
His top donors all happen to be people that Trump invites to his tech dinners and White House press conferences.
Scott Wiener is just blatantly violating campaign finance laws by using the Families for an Affordable SF super PAC to have unlimited contributions.
The FEC has been toothless under the Trump admin. If Scott was really going to “fight Trump”, why won’t the FEC do anything? They could crush Scott’s campaign for this if they want. Interesting they’re choosing not to.

The committees can only coordinate on canvassing activities.
In May, the super PAC split the cost of the DJ at Wiener’s bday party/HQ opening 2:1.
The super PAC spent $1,338 at Costco for “food and beverage for canvassing.” The campaign paid it back $446 for “office supplies.”
Scott Wiener’s congressional campaign is directly coordinating with a super PAC in an unusual arrangement that at times appears to stretch the bounds of campaign finance law:

Killing the Campus Encampment Movement in California
In California, the legislature’s Jewish Caucus, co-chaired by Senator Wiener at the time, made weaponizing antisemitism to stifle campus protest a policy priority for 2024. 🧵

Working people built San Francisco. I’m running for Congress to fight for them.
Proud to stand with @CaliforniaLabor and the overwhelming majority of unions in this race.
Together, we’ll take on billionaires and big corporations — and put San Francisco’s working families first.

Scott Wiener knows that Trump's FEC won't hold him accountable so he is behaving like Trump

Scott Wiener:
- always does favors for the predatory capitalists who invest in him, and
- always tries to evade accountability for it by pushing narratives that obscure the truth
Probably the most critical thing written about Senator Scott Wiener in the congressional race thus from a mainstream press outlet.
@FitzTheReporter documents the entire campaign team running away from him as he asks them about the $3 million from the AI Lobby:

🚨#CA11, Scott Weiner will not regulate the AI companies that fund his campaigns. Anthropic is writing the checks for him to look away - textbook corruption on full display.
🗳️Vote for Connie Chan! She will regulate AI and stop their toxic data centers!!

As an organizer supporting AROC for the resolution, I saw firsthand the pressure Sen Wiener exerted to get Supervisors to vote ‘no.’
This illustrates how his policy positions on Palestine sound good but are misleading, if not outright lies.
