On #WorldLionDay, let's take a moment to reflect on why the lion continues to inspire nations across the globe. For centuries, the lion has embodied courage, strength, leadership, justice, heritage, and pride, qualities that transcend borders and cultures. Today, more than 30 nations and territories proudly feature the lion in their national emblems. But the lion is more than a symbol. As an apex predator, it plays a vital role in maintaining ecological balance, regulating prey populations, and supporting healthy ecosystems. Protecting lions means protecting the biodiversity and landscapes that countless other species depend on. This World Lion Day, let's celebrate not only the lion's enduring legacy but also its invaluable role in nature by supporting efforts to secure its future. Swipe to discover why the lion is both a global symbol and a guardian of our ecosystems. #WorldLionDay #OneLionManyNations #InternationalBigCatAlliance #ProtectNature @moefcc @byadavbjp @SPYadavIFS @KVSinghMPGonda @SoumitraIfs @SAWEN @IndiaFoundation @IUCN @Vantara @IRALE @WWF @WWFINDIA @FAO @Sankala_India @UNDP_India @UNEP @wii_india @PantheraCats @CougarConserv @IndiaIucn @snowleopards @Unitedfortigers @World_Wildlife @WCO_OMD @themobiusfound @CCFCheetah @UNWTO @UNDPasiapac @UNDPplanet @IoraEcological @EarthBrigadeIN @AmurTigerCenter @indfoundation @ciicesd @PwC_IN @IraleInfo @ColoradoStateU

#Ladakh has approved the establishment of the Snow Leopard and High-Altitude Nature Conservation Society (SHAN), a dedicated institutional mechanism aimed at conserving snow leopards, associated wildlife, alpine flora, wetlands, and other fragile mountain ecosystems through science-based and community-led approaches. #IBCA warmly welcomes this significant initiative, which reinforces the importance of landscape-level conservation, community stewardship, and sustainable livelihoods in safeguarding the Trans-Himalayan region.
