RUNNER AWARDS GAUTENG PROVINCE NOMINEE SPOTLIGHT 📣 FROM 8KM TO A LEGEND IN THE MAKING. MEET THE ALEX 10KM. In 2023, an ambitious idea was born: to host a road race in one of South Africa’s oldest townships, Alexandra. The Find Your Fit 8km Run kicked off at Alexandra Plaza—a small step toward something much bigger. By 2024, it had grown into the Adreach Alex 10km, starting at the same plaza. In 2025, the race officially moved to its new home at the Altrec Sports Complex. Today, it stands as one of Gauteng’s most inspiring running stories. 📊 THE JOURNEY 2023 Find Your Fit 8km – the dream begins 2024 Adreach Alex 10km – first official edition 2025 New venue: Altrec Sports Complex 2026 3,000+ participants – a thriving community event ⛰️ THE COURSE This route is officially one of the shortest challenging routes around Joburg, with an estimated elevation of 1600m due to the geographic positioning of Alexandra and the Jukskei River.
