Read Alex had a double-dose brain workout this morning!
We started with an energetic hour of 30 Seconds, where the kids sharpened their communication skills and laughed their way through their own invented words. Then we switched tables to our newest addition, tactical chess…
Thank you to our amazing volunteers and to the parents who keep encouraging the kids to join us at these weekend sessions. Well done to our young ones for showing up so consistently!

Today the running community came out to run in support of a great initiative organised by Busisiwe Bless Mzandolo of North Runners in partnership with Run Alex
The Stronger Fun Run was to raise awareness in redefining and prioritising men's mental health.
As Run Alex we were honoured to work together with great partners to make this day the success that it was.
Thank you to everyone who showed up and took part, whether walking or running.
We fully endorse such initiatives as Run Alex I'm saying we are stronger together and you don't have to feel alone.

Learners from Alex primary schools shine bright at the Read Alex Spelling Bee🐝 📚 ✨
Words are a form expression and what a delightful experience it was to witness young bright sparks 🔥 from five primary schools in Alexandra take up the mic to become top spellers. The contestants confidently pronounced and spelt out words that we use in our daily lives and extraordinary words that make us seek definitions from the dictionary. 🤩 🤞🏿
