An unexpected 2nd generation Andrena haemorrhoa (Orange-tailed Mining Bee) visiting ivy blossom at Ivington, near Leominster, yesterday. Normally a single-brooded spring-flying species. @StevenFalk1

Do these posts drilled with holes Actually get used for intended purpose you may ask. Not only have Leaf Cutter bees nested, but also Isodontia Mexicans looks to have used them too. @CodyDock

What looks like juvenile Blackbird from the garden. It is very friendly and pops up when I sit out in the garden. It is ground feeding but seems unaware of danger. @RSPBNELondonGrp

Pyrrhocoris apterus Fire Bugs at various stages on a Lime Tree Seed. These little bugs seem to be in large numbers and spreading fast locally. Most are short winged forms but I have seen a few Long winged forms which might explain their quick dispersal. @BritishBugs @iancbeavis

Purple Emperor had a good year in Norfolk in 2025. It will be interesting to see if they expand their range further this summer. Could be on the wing now. #savebutterflies ๐Ÿ“ท Iain Leach BC

A joy to see today, mum feeding her cubs this morning. Cemeteries are such important spaces for wildlife in London, in this present climate where so many flats are being built on any natural area. #FoxOfTheDay

#OlympicPark We saw three Painted Lady butterflies today which is quite a good number here in one day as in previous years I might only see three in a season. I noticed # Norfolk had quite a few this year. @uk_butterflies

The colour of these Bombus humilis in comparison to Bombus pascuroum is quite different although I have seen queens of Common Carder with a very bright colour which is similar at a glance. @iancbeavis @noordinarypark #OlympicPark

This bee was such a beauty to see. The colour was so fresh. Iโ€™m guessing Colletes similis the thorax was a bright reddish brown. @iancbeavis #OlympicPark #E20 @noordinarypark

Spotted today on a garden wall. At first I thought it was Hypositticus pubescens but not so sure. @BritishSpiders @Tone_Killick
