There are many oversimplifications and factual errors in this article, which largely echoes the propaganda of the ethnocratic regime in Kigali.
Much of what is true is presented as false, and much of what is false is presented as true.
I will write an article on the subject to set the record straight and reestablish the facts.
It was not a genocidal ideology that was decisive in Rwanda in 1994.
It is enough to read the empirical studies, particularly Scott Straus’s The Order of Genocide, to understand what the real determinants of this genocide were.
It was rather a genocidal strategy that was considered, most likely around October 1993, and that was decided upon immediately after the attack on President Habyarimana.
It is clear that the discourse of the former FDLR, naively repeated by this journalist, is the product of a carefully crafted and polished narrative elaborated by Kagame’s propaganda services.
Insofar as the alleged ideology is all they have left to justify the unjustifiable, the territorial agression.
One understands why this regime — which has its opponents beheaded — pushes its remaining allies, such as Qatar, to spread the last biaised rationalization still available to them.
