School food procurement matters. Better decisions can mean better food on the plate and stronger supply chains for British producers.
@DefraGovUK project to improve school food procurement is a welcome step towards raising standards and putting British food at the heart of school food procurement. ๐ฌ๐ง

Essay Collection: Our relationship with the land has never been purely economic.
In Spirit and the Land, Dr Rupert Sheldrake, biologist and author, explores the connections between farming, spirituality, seasonal traditions and our sense of place.
From ancient sacred landscapes and pilgrimage routes to Plough Sunday and harvest festivals, his essay reflects on how our relationship with the land has changed โ and why reconnecting with its spiritual dimension still matters.
It's a fascinating perspective on the role of food in British society, reminding us that farming is about more than producing food. It's also about the land, the seasons, our communities and our connection to the natural world.

HARVEST FESTIVAL ๐พ๐ฌ๐ง
We are just a few hours away from the National Harvest Service in Nantwich โ a special gathering rooted in the long tradition of Harvest Festival, giving thanks for the food we grow, the people who produce it and the communities who bring us together.
The National Harvest Service began in 2013, when it was inaugurated at Westminster Abbey by Her Majesty The Queen. Since then, it has travelled around the country, bringing together farmers, growers, food producers, churches, rural organisations and communities to celebrate harvest and give thanks for the people and land behind our food.
Today, it returns to Cheshire, as part of our 25th anniversary British Food Fortnight.

What a wonderful way to bring 25th anniversary British Food Fortnight to a close โ with the National Harvest Service in Nantwich, celebrating British food, farming and community.
With livestock, tractors, local produce and plenty of colour outside St Maryโs Church, the town really brought the spirit of harvest to life. ๐พ๐
It was especially lovely to have @CheshireYFC joining us โ the next generation at the heart of a rural county with such a proud farming heritage. ๐ฑ
A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise the National Harvest Service and the celebrations in Nantwich.
Alongside us in Exeter, the inaugural National Harvest of the Sea brought people together to give thanks for the harvest from our waters. ๐๐
Two special services. One shared celebration of British food, farming, fishing and the communities behind it.
Because food is never JUST food. It connects us to our land, our seas, our farmers, our traditions and each other. โค๏ธ
