Will someone explain why most of the Labour cabinet are millionaires, when not one of them has ever run a business. 🤔

36 yrs since a horrific storm where lightning struck some of our farrowing arks. Just a few months into our pig farming journey. Devastating for mum & dad. A baptism of fire maybe, in reality a devastating incident indicative of a sector requiring immense resilience 1/8
Yes the food system is complex but just because it’s complex it doesn’t mean it should be ignored when FOOD is such a fundamental part of life’s requirements!
Please @downingstreet meet with @NatPigAssoc urgently

We need joined up thinking, cross party work to literally save our bacon, we’ve young farmers with their sights set on farming and they’re dissuaded by poor gov policy and lack of understanding 8/8

💰 The Home Office has signed off up to £125m for staff travel and accommodation.
This is from a Government that has already:
❌ Put taxes up by around £70bn
❌ Borrowed another £310bn
Because apparently there still isn’t enough money.
And remember, a couple of weeks ago, I revealed the Home Office had also signed off £35m for staff vehicles.
That’s £160m on staff travel, accommodation and vehicles.
They keep telling taxpayers to tighten their belts.
Perhaps Government should try it.
Because when they say there isn’t enough money…
…what they really mean is there isn’t enough money for you.
How do you know when you’ve cooked enough pork for the weekend?
I would say finding it in your hair would be a reasonable indicator 🙈🙄

I try to buy all my fresh food from farmers’ markets, farm shops, local butchers, fishmongers and greengrocers. The quality is way better than a supermarket and because I use cash to pay for it, it keeps money in the local circular economy. And I’m spending less money because I’m only buying exactly what I need. So important to support local businesses - the engine room of our local economies.
As a biz owner I love killing 2 birds with 1 stone (analogy before the animal rights brigade pile on).
What we have now is MPs thinking they’re killing 2 birds with 1 stone believing they’re doing some sort of “public service” whilst being paid handsomely for it 1/3
Public service is NHS nurses, doctors, janitors. It’s our armed forces, it’s social care, it’s people that provide and CARE.
It is not the rot that is our current bloated state of career politicians and under experienced civil servants with no life experience 2/3
