You have an hour left to vote for nationalisation of Thames Water.
No compensation to shareholders.
Make it happen, vote Green.

🌊If you're voting in Holborn and St Pancras based on public ownership, this is what the leading contenders are saying about Thames Water 🌊
🔴 Labour: Candidate is calling for public ownership of Thames Water, but this is not official party policy.
🟢 Greens: Thames Water to be brought into public ownership before Christmas. No compensation for shareholders or creditors.

hounded to death by an unrelenting and under regulated media. in any normal society this would give rise to serious questions about the conduct of journalists and platforms and would lead to change. will be waiting a long time i fear.

Jason Arday has been found dead.
The obsessive media focus on this one man - as if it was one of the biggest scandals in history - was disproportionate beyond belief.
Push notifications, top headlines, constant investigations.
And now he is dead.

A government treating climate change seriously would:
🚒 recruit more firefighters, paid and equipped properly, reopen closed stations
🛢️no new licenses for oil and gas, definitely no fracking or “clean coal”
⚡️ decarbonise existing energy system (~10% reduction yoy)
🦫 extensive beaver Rewilding programme + other flood strengthening of infrastructure
🍎 build council small holdings, in pursuit of food sovereignty

I’ll never forget Keir Starmer’s island of strangers speech and how he fanned the flames of hateful anti-immigration rhetoric that is radicalising people & making the country less safe for us all. What a legacy to leave behind as a Labour leader.

On the anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire, we remember the 72 people who died and their friends, families and loved ones who continue to seek justice.
We remember also the six people who died at Lakanal House in our borough in 2009, the people who were injured, and the lives that were changed forever.
Southwark Council is deeply aware of the responsibility we have on fire and building safety. We have taken action to make our council homes safe, and it continues to be the top priority of this administration.
