Can understand why Rio perhaps doesn't start games from an OOP standpoint, but there's no denying his 1v1 ability.
Couple of moments where he could have released the ball earlier, but his involvement in Munoz goal was excellent- strong, calm and smart.
You can see already how much his game is developing from his time under Iraola, specifically off the RW. There's more variance in his play and he's comfortable drifting inside and receiving in the right half spaces.
Definitely did enough today to warrant a start midweek. Really great cameo despite being overlooked at HT for Frimpong.
Ifeani Ndukwe (18) had a good game for Levante this evening on his second start.
His positioning is quite good for his age, stops him needing to do a lot of reactive defending.
Can be nonchalant sometimes when needing to engage, which could just be an age and settling in thing.
Didn't have a great game in the air (again) which is a worry, but also could be an age and settling in thing.
Playing LCB:
- 86% pass percentage
- 69 touches
- 4 passes into the final third
- 4/5 long balls, 80%
- 6 defensive contributions
- 1/4 aerial duels, 25%
- 1/2 ground duels, 50%
Only his second start, but building confidence.
This true for the majority of players, we're a massive club.
I see this one like Wharton, the fans regard him higher than the club. Don't think either move the needle in isolation.
Need the right one first then maybe it's worth a look.
Coming back to this on the eve of CL game v LASK.
Will be interesting if a change of personnel can unlock an attacking zone via way of freedom or less expectations, or if a heavily rotated side looks more stiff and inept carving out attacks.
Either way, very thoughtful piece.

Camara needed in Jan before all else
[🟢] INFO: Liverpool would be in a strong position, with manager Andoni Iraola maintaining close relationships with his former club, both with Scott himself and figures in Bournemouth's leadership.

Thoughts on today's game:
- our build out is poor and thoughtless, no real patterns or intent
- Wirtz and Barcola extremely poor
- Munoz and Koumas bright, but that's it
- Gravenberch 2nd yellow was fair, he is constantly wrong side, oftentimes lazy to track back and recover
- not sure 4231 works, think a switch to a 433 would better suit the squad
- bench was a worry without Isak, Gakpo and Dom
- ref was atrocious, but that's no excuse
- crumbling 90 seconds after going down to 10 men is a worry
We're back, and so are Andoni's Reds.
Here's what we'd like to see vs City, let us know your thoughts below and what you may or may not change!
We didn't set the world ablaze but there were some positives
- change to more of a 433 got the best out of everyone
- utilization of a CDM dropping between CBs creating a 3-4 build out was nice
- Rio at RW doesn't work if Frimpong RB as there is no in/out dynamic
- Koumas x McConnell enthusiasm to press was refreshing
- obvious Trey needs to play more, we lost control when Gravenberch came on
- Szoboszlai great strike but long term the team would be much more stable and benefits from him at RB (especially with a right footer at RW)
