Looks a lot more rounded as a footballer, can see him starting to problem solve and vary his game in real time.

Yep, we definitely need to show that the game time is there, being able to play both sides (and maybe the SS as he showing some signs of that) will help that massively. He loves the fans and the club, and the fans love him so hopefully we can get it done long before Jan.

100%. Also, as they both settle in on their respective wings, the option for them to switch wings becomes a useful tool for changing dynamics in game- without the need for making a substitution. I am glad to see Rio grow after last season, the lack of consistency in his minutes stunted the growth we should have seen out of him in 25/26.

Can understand why Rio perhaps doesn't start games from an OOP standpoint, but there's no denying his 1v1 ability. Couple of moments where he could have released the ball earlier, but his involvement in Munoz goal was excellent- strong, calm and smart. You can see already how much his game is developing from his time under Iraola, specifically off the RW. There's more variance in his play and he's comfortable drifting inside and receiving in the right half spaces. Definitely did enough today to warrant a start midweek. Really great cameo despite being overlooked at HT for Frimpong.

Agreed. I would definitely be inclined to leave him there for the whole season this year and get him as many games as possible. No point in bringing him back not to play.

Same. He definitely looked like he was a little timid/nonchalant. Looks a super talent though, second new league and new language in as many months though so not too much worry. I agree in terms of leaving him there all season, especially if he is starting games consistently, playing a lot of 70-90 min games and putting in solid displays.

Ifeani Ndukwe (18) had a good game for Levante this evening on his second start. His positioning is quite good for his age, stops him needing to do a lot of reactive defending. Can be nonchalant sometimes when needing to engage, which could just be an age and settling in thing. Didn't have a great game in the air (again) which is a worry, but also could be an age and settling in thing. Playing LCB: - 86% pass percentage - 69 touches - 4 passes into the final third - 4/5 long balls, 80% - 6 defensive contributions - 1/4 aerial duels, 25% - 1/2 ground duels, 50% Only his second start, but building confidence.

Same, and as you said Camara should be priority, then we see what we need from there

On the basic level, why can't Iraola turn Grav or Dom into a Scott type profile. Why do we need to add more of the same to the mix...

From what I've seen of him (eye test) and his data he stacks very close to Grav, who we can all agree seems to fall short on both ends of the spectrum. Scott is more of the same to what we already have- Grav x Dom. Not sure he is good enough on or off the ball to justify it imo

Scott is Grav w curtain bangs. If we get Camara that solves progression, coupled w Trey and Dom we look fine. If Trey don't make the grade then Wharton is an option. I don't see a world in which Scott helps us RIGHT NOW. Not saying he isn't good, he is, but he is another carry first CM.

This true for the majority of players, we're a massive club. I see this one like Wharton, the fans regard him higher than the club. Don't think either move the needle in isolation. Need the right one first then maybe it's worth a look.
I've always said that if we are in for him, we'll get him.

Camara Trey Mora can be the future
Klopp had a plan in place to move on from Henderson. Thiago Fabinho Elliott was the plan. Man that injury killed him ffs

Can have a lovely roof but if the foundation is weak it won't matter. Anyway, I'm so happy Hughes is gone. Hopefully Ward can get us back on track.

Coming back to this on the eve of CL game v LASK. Will be interesting if a change of personnel can unlock an attacking zone via way of freedom or less expectations, or if a heavily rotated side looks more stiff and inept carving out attacks. Either way, very thoughtful piece.
