But what if we want to destroy the oil and gas industry??
HAPPENING NOW: We saw that @GovHotWheels_TX was having an event in Houston, so our campaign has bought this truck to remind Abbott voters of what he said - that Bo French would destroy the Texas Oil & Gas industry.

Harris County has broken the record for first-day early voting turnout in a midterm election! As of 3:30 p.m., 70K+ voters have been processed, surpassing the previous record of 63,188 set in 2018, with 3.5 hours remaining. CONGRATULATIONS, HARRIS COUNTY! #HarrisVotes

Less than 5% of fire department calls are for fires and yet, the FDs insist on an 18-ton truck and four person crew to attend a 78 y/o woman with chest pain. At this point, fire trucks are mostly branding. FDs have become a spectacularly expensive EMS service. Time for reform
Were You Aware: SF Fire Department has a budget of $550M (2025). That year, it counted 6,550 fires, mostly outside, with only 300 fires in buildings that year. That means we could just Abolish The Fire Department and when your building burns down, give you $2M!

Happy first day of early voting in TX to all who celebrate 🎉 so grateful to the thousands of people who stepped up to work at the polling places this year so their neighbors can vote + to the many election officials who worked so hard to clear the state's registration backlog 🎉

We built a country that looks like this over the last 70 years to force people to buy a product that’s bankrupting them.
BREAKING: America’s $1.7 trillion auto loan market is headed for a crash, per Reuters. Auto loans are now one of the biggest sources of household debt, bigger than credit cards. And the strain is showing: 1 in 5 Americans is behind on at least one loan, the highest since 2010, and the average car on the road is now nearly 13 years old, a record.

Texas will do anything but build mass transit
Train at a complete standstill during rush hour traffic ON Shepard/Durham yet 2 blocks away Abbott's TXDOT is spending billions to redo a freeway that flooded for a day during Harvey

Raiding METRO’s budget and forcing them to pay for road repairs isn’t the win you think it is mayor.
Better roads and dependable infrastructure matter to everyone who travels through Houston. METRO’s FY2027 budget includes $40 million for improvements along its routes. I appreciate this partnership as we address road repairs, curbs and drainage.

Wow. The man ICE said it was pursuing when its car hit Miguel Parra this weekend had been dead for almost a decade, per @jazmineulloa of the @nytimes.

End HPD collaboration with ICE immediately
Another ICE enforcement incident has left another person hospitalized in Texas. According to the Houston Chronicle, the Harris County Sheriff reported that an ICE agent struck a man with a vehicle after he fled a traffic stop on foot. The man was hospitalized with a suspected broken leg. This comes just 11 days after ICE issued new guidance restricting vehicle stops, prohibiting vehicle pursuits, and requiring activated body cameras during stops. Footage via Univision/IG

I have called on the Administration to immediately withdraw the Model Cities Initiative (MCI) grant application submitted without City Council approval or public knowledge. For weeks, the community and I have asked for clear answers about what accepting this grant could require of the City and HPD, particularly when it comes to supporting federal immigration enforcement operations, providing access to DHS agents, and honoring DHS requests. This is not simply a $150 million federal grant with no conditions attached. The Department of Justice’s own MCI grant materials raise serious concerns about whether the City could refuse requests to assist in ICE operations without jeopardizing that funding. The Administration repeatedly represented to Council and the public that it was awaiting answers from DOJ before moving forward, yet public reporting now indicates that the grant application had already been submitted without Council approval. I have had a productive conversation with the Administration, and am hopeful they will remedy this oversight, as well as provide a full and transparent explanation of how it was submitted without Council approval. The Administration must also ensure that future high value grant applications comply with the City’s own rules requiring Council approval under Administrative Policy 4-1.

Whitmire trying to erase the fact that he ripped up the crosswalk to begin with.
Proud to help unveil the new Pride banners. These banners represent the unity and strength of our Montrose community and the greater Houston community. I’m proud to sponsor these banners and to support a message that means so much to so many.

@airallianceHOU Bad sidewalks? So many to choose from! Historic photos from early 2000’s show there is a sidewalk under there to be discovered. Where is our modern-day Hiram Bingham? (NE corner of Hardy & Line)

Forced is certainly one way of saying Whitmire caved and had protesters arrested.
Nearly a year ago, the state forced Houston to remove the rainbow crosswalk from a Montrose intersection. Yesterday, we unveiled 20 Pride flag banners along Westheimer Rd. They could remove the paint. But they can’t erase the LGBTQ+ community, its history, or its place in Houston.

The Houston Chronicle does this every year where they endorse one or two Republicans far down the ballot so that the editorial board can larp like they’re more enlightened than the unwashed partisan masses.
