When James Talarico is scheduled to appear down the street from your house, you are kinda obligated to go, no?
My house cleaner used to only work on Sundays since that's when her husband could drive her. I taught her the metro park and ride and rail, gave her a q card and escorted her to her stop downtown until she got confident riding. That was 5 years ago. Transit is freedom
Replying to @lyndonbajohnson @StephStradley
This is like Whitmire bitching about the bike lanes being only for the benefit of a bunch of rich capacino liberals. Go spend a morning on 11th. The primary utalizer of those bike lanes are service industry folks *biking to work.* -OS

This actually would explain why kids nowadays don't prize chocolate on Halloween like I used to. They much prefer sugary candy like skittles. Potatoes still rule supreme over all
This past Valentine’s Day, 71-year-old Brad Reese, proud grandson of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups inventor H. B. Reese, posted a scathing open letter to the manager of corporate brand and editorial at Hershey, accusing the company of unforgivably altering many Reese’s products by replacing real chocolate with compound chocolate — basically using vegetable oils instead of cocoa butter to lower costs and replacing real peanut butter with “peanut-butter-style crèmes.”
“And Reese wasn’t alone in feeling like everything was getting worse,” writes Rachel Handler. “Everyone in my life I spoke to agreed that something was amiss, that Reese’s — and commercial chocolate in general — didn’t taste the way it used to.”
Handler would spend the next several months tumbling down a chocolate vortex, encountering dozens of eccentric characters, all disagreeing about the fundamental question of what chocolate even is and who it should be for.
“I learned that — not to sound like a LinkedIn guy — what’s going on with chocolate is a parable for the modern world. That at this particularly bleak end stage of capitalism, everything we once treasured has or will lose its essential essence and MrBeast will always be involved somehow.”
For our cover story, Handler takes a deep dive into the molten belly of the chocolate world. Read it in full: nymag.visitlink.me/vKKky_
Train at a complete standstill during rush hour traffic ON Shepard/Durham yet 2 blocks away Abbott's TXDOT is spending billions to redo a freeway that flooded for a day during Harvey
One day LBJ will follow me and my twitter life goals will be complete (no offense @evan7257)
Ok this feels like cheating, but this account made me stop by the LBJ museum in San Marcos this summer with my family. My wife asked me "why does no one know all these great things LBJ did? I've never heard of him before."
Halloween is such an underrated way to build community. I'm forced to be outside putting up my decorations and neighbors stop by to chat. Stop being too cool for school and embrace the corniness!
New high comfort bike lanes coming on Quitman thanks to @AdrianGarciaHTX. My barber @johnnyrioux moved down the street at white oak so this is perfect for me to get off the red line @BikeHouston
Following my theory that Houston is 20 years behind LA. People aren't prepared for the prevalence of paid parking that is coming. I can just hear the whines now.
Honest question: how did Orlando Sanchez get the nomination? It feels like the R's heart wasn't in this race. Were they assuming Anise Parker was going to win and they were ok with that outcome? Such a difference from 2022
I feel like a better politician would have had a dodged this loaded question lol @evan7257
