In other news - Minister Parks Tau's decision to award the national lottery licence to Sizekhaya has been set aside. The fundamental flaw - inserting an evaluation structure that had not been mentioned on the RFP whose insights the Minister considered in making his decision. So we are going from Sizekhaya back to Siyenkantolo...

The broadcaster’s statement says that the show is NOT cancelled and that it continues until the end of the contracted 260 episodes Season 1. Why continue to drive cancellation as a narrative when it is factually incorrect?
SABC Cancels Black Brain Pictures' Drama 'Paradys' Due to Low Ratings The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has officially decided to cancel Paradys, a drama series produced by Mandla N's renowned production house, Black Brain Pictures. The show, which made its debut on SABC2 in February this year, will not be returning for another season. According to the public broadcaster, the decision to axe the series stems directly from its poor viewership numbers and its failure to generate sufficient revenue. Despite the high profile of Black Brain Pictures known for producing several hit South African television shows, Paradys struggled to find a solid audience footing during its run, ultimately leading to the broadcaster pulling the plug.

The narrative that #SouthAfrica "lost" Formula 1 to Rwanda is a misinterpretation of how the global F1 calendar operates. 1. F1 Timelines: We Aren't Even Competing for the Same Years. Rwanda’s deal is a long-term play targeting the early 2030s for a completely brand-new, purpose-built circuit in Bugesera. Meanwhile, 🇿🇦’s immediate focus is targeting a slot much sooner—specifically 2028 or 2029. 🇿🇦’s bid committee is actively moving forward with corporate backing to secure an earlier date. 2. The "One Continent, One Race" Fallacy The idea that Africa can only host a single Grand Prix is an outdated double standard. • Europe hosts 9 races. • The Middle East hosts 4 races. • The United States alone hosts 3 races. Formula 1 Management (FOM) has a massive, rapidly expanding global audience. An entire continent of 54+ countries can absolutely sustain more than one race. Rwanda entering the calendar simply breaks the ice for Africa’s return; it doesn't lock the door for others. 3. South Africa Already Has the Infrastructure Core. Rwanda is building its multi-billion dollar project entirely from scratch. South Africa, by contrast, has multiple highly viable, active options: • The Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit: Already holds an FIA Grade 2 certification & has approved, ready-to-go design plans to upgrade to Grade 1 status. • The Cape Town Private Bid: The BMR Consortium recently reaffirmed its commitment to a privately funded R6.7 billion motorsport precinct targeted for 2031, citing Cape Town's unmatched existing tourism & airport infrastructure. 4. South Africa's Commercial and Corporate Muscle. Unlike bids reliant entirely on state funding, South Africa's approach leverages massive private sector appetite. The current bid has already brought heavy-hitting corporate sponsors to the table—including MTN, Discovery, Betway, and Canal+. F1 is a commercial sport, and South Africa's broadcasting weight and domestic market size remain incredibly lucrative to Liberty Media.

Netflix reports Q3 earnings after the close on October 20. Consensus is about $12.9B in revenue, roughly 12% growth. So why you lying ?
Netflix is FIRING 1,000 employees as the company continues to collapse. Their stock has PLUNGED nearly 40% in the past year. Some of its biggest shows reportedly have lost more than HALF their viewers after just one season. They sexualized children. They mocked Charlie Kirk's death. They betrayed their audience and now they're facing the consequences. In other words, go woke go broke.

🇺🇸 In 2014, Chicago woman Dawn Michelle Hunt thought she had won the trip of a lifetime. She received an email saying she had won an all-expenses-paid trip to Australia. At first she was suspicious, but after checking out the company she believed the offer was legitimate. The trip included a stopover in China to collect prize documents and designer handbags she was told to take with her to Australia. Then, at the airport in Guangzhou, security searched the handbags and found more than 4.5 pounds of methamphetamine sewn into the linings. Hunt was arrested. Chinese authorities later acknowledged she had likely been used as an unwitting drug mule, but the court still convicted her saying she “should have known better” She was originally sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve, which was later reduced to life in prison. More than a decade on, she remains locked up in Guangdong Women’s Prison and her family continues to fight for her release.
