ICYMI last week the @RecordersOffice had an issue, raising supply chain questions. Justin Heap didn’t announce it until Friday 5:19pm. On this lack of transparency, folks are saying “the optics are terrible.” Justin needs to improve after Trump called him “dishonest” last Monday.
Looking forward to @MarkStewart_AZ declaring Maricopa County's elections free, fair, and accurate when it's all said and done.
Disappointed he hasn't chimed in on the latest ginned up controversies, but that's on me for having the most basic expectations in my government.
How do you vote?
Did you get your mail in ballot?
If you haven’t received your early ballot, don’t worry. You still have options!
Here are three simple ways to vote:
Request a replacement ballot by October 23 at request.maricopa.vote or call 602-506-1511.
The best option: Vote early in person. Find a location at elections.maricopa.gov
Or Vote on Election Day, November 3. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
If you’re mailing your ballot, October 27 or earlier is the recommended deadline. All ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day.
Track your ballot at BeBallotReady.Vote
Help us get results quickly by voting early, please 🙏
Let’s make it happen, @maricopacounty! 🇺🇸

Blaming me for this election being stolen is just as rational as blaming me for 2020…
And yet. That was 4 years of my life.
Ditto 2022.
Somehow — somehow! — I wasn’t blamed for 2024.

You can also call the Maricopa County Recorders Office at 602-506-1511 in addition to their main number and it will route to the Recorder's Office on ballot mailing issues.

It’s spooky season AZ & some things are scarier than Halloween.
In 2023, Alexander Kolodin was placed on 18 months of probation following disciplinary proceedings involving his election-related lawsuits.
Now he’s running to oversee elections.
Read the facts, decide for yourself.

So let me get this right??? Recorder Heap @azjustinheap calls the FBI on innocent election workers just doing their job even tho Heap's own Chief of Staff @SamThePol tweets that nothing nefarious happened.

What? You didn't call the FBI on yourself? 😉
Transparency In Action: Unauthorized After-Hours Early Voting Site Access Immediately Addressed; No Voters Affected
In keeping with Recorder Justin Heap’s rigorous standards for complete transparency, the Maricopa County Recorder's Office (MCRO) is sharing with the public an incident of unauthorized access to an early voting site at the Chandler-Gilbert Community College Early Voting location. No voters were affected. Read full release here:

This is the guy who got caught in his latest lie, saying your ballots are being sent through San Diego. He has the credibility of a used car salesman. So if/ when facts come out, they will likely come out from an independent or other source. Take his tweets with a grain of salt.
Unlike some of my colleagues in County government, I trust the voters of Maricopa County. And I believe the only way to earn their trust is through complete transparency - especially when election security is at stake.
This morning, we identified a potential security issue at one of our early voting locations. We took immediate action.
Here’s what happened, what we know, and what we’re doing about it.

BUSTED?! Justin Heap mishandled ballots? Folks are asking why Heap takes hours to report until 5:19pm? More sloppiness from Justin Heap, another day another heap of scandal. I wonder if he called the @FBI?

I just made a Public Records request for all communications between and among @MarkStewart_AZ @azjustinheap @SamThePol @MerissaCaldwell and others. If they’ve been above board they have nothing to worry about. We will find out soon.
So we can presume then that Sam called the FBI after his office was caught moving voting equipment when they were not supposed to?
Since as he says below “when questions about potentially fraudulent activity in an election come to light the proper reaction is not for the organization at hand to clear themselves, but to bring in an appropriate outside investigative agency to do it.”

1. Do I think anything nefarious was at play in this situation?
No
2. Did I recommend and contact the FBI and MCAO immediately to pass what we had been given on?
Absolutely did. Would do it again. Every time. Because when questions about potentially fraudulent activity in an election come to light the proper reaction is not for the organization at hand to clear themselves, but to bring in an appropriate outside investigative agency to do it.
3. Brahm asked why we didn’t just tell Scott Jarrett
We did, via MCAO, immediately authorizing them to share what we received with MCED and BOS
So what Brahm is really wanting, and some members of this board are leaking to him to try to get, is MCRO to play the duck and cover game that has already cost one group of BOS members and two Recorders their seats
Sorry, not sorry. Never gonna happen

One of the amoral amoebas at the Recorder’s Office is spinning their latest stunt that failed. He fails to mention he called the FBI with Shelby Busch who has no regard for the law or election integrity or the Constitution.

"Prop. 144 puts many of the things Arizona voters value into contention. In addition to changing how we vote, it would also change county election administration practices, requiring tabulation machines at all voting locations so that voters could have their votes counted right away. In theory, this could speed the reporting of final election results. In practice, it would incur significant expense for counties without the desired outcome."

Voted Blue all the way through! I also voted Hell No on Trojan Horse Prop 144 so I can continue to vote early by mail.
This is the same recorder who took multiple victory laps after merely not screwing up the primary.
And the same man who seized a tabulation machine during Tempe’s election.
Leaders take responsibility, not make excuses. @azjustinheap is the Michael Scott of Maricopa County.
Seems like the allies of @azjustinheap are laying the groundwork for a blame game when the elections get totally screwed up. They must be worried with the gaffes he has already incurred. Let's be clear he runs the elections not the BOS. All of this whining about the BOS is BS.
I joined @azfamily's Politics Unplugged to debate Prop. 144 with the Arizona Free Enterprise Club’s Greg Blackie (again).
My message was simple: Arizona voters should not amend our Constitution to impose new, undefined ID requirements on vote-by-mail ballots, without being told how the system will work, how voter privacy will be protected, or what happens if lawmakers cannot agree.
Arizona’s vote-by-mail system works. Prop. 144 puts it in serious jeopardy.
