No, Patrick, personal disgust is not sufficient grounds for bans or censorship. Banning or censoring sexual material simply because you are disgusted by it is authoritarian and sets a dangerous precedent that turns personal preference into state censorship.
No Patrick, the UK banning consenting adults from role playing in ways you find distasteful is not “a good thing”

Banning anything harmless because it makes them feel icky is a great route to fascism, will they ban homosexual content under the same excuse? Transgender content? Anything that isn't missionary with praying? This isn't about protecting people the government just want to control

Let's see here 1A rights get violated privacy gets destroyed digital ID system building blocks gets put in place creeps and awful people don't get arrested and put in jail Then there's the fact this bill actually doesn't really help parents KIDS act is awful
As a mom, I know what parents are up against online. I helped pass the KIDS Act to turn safety settings on by default, ban targeted ads aimed at kids, add new safeguards against online predators, and give parents real tools to protect their kids online. No parent should have to take on Big Tech alone.

The UK has now set its sights on banning fictional media and if you don't think this leads to all art being censored in the near future.. you haven't been paying attention. They are more concerned about what you do online and say, then real problems. youtu.be/UbOHshGXZIs

"The Government mandating restrictions on platforms where we utilize our free speech is in no way, shape, or form, inhibiting our right to free speech." Do they even hearing themselves or do they just like to hear themselves talk.
NEW: The 11th Circuit allowed Florida to enforce its ban on social media accounts for children under 14 and its parental consent requirement for ages 14–15, ruling that the restrictions likely do not violate the First Amendment.

Instead of focusing on getting rid of all the criminals in the street to make their country safer they do this. Banning this won’t save anyone and it just damages freedom of expression. Mind you, this censorship could extend to fictional drawings scenarios too Slippery slope

Censorship is a boomerang. Sooner or later, it will target the content you love. Supporting censorship means risking freedom of expression and paving the way for a world without creative freedom.

Once AGAIN. More of a reason. NOT TO DO ONLINE AGE VERIFICATION! Bills like ASAA. KOSA, and etc. This goes with the bill that 11th circuit let go through in florida and Georgia
JUST IN: Florida driver licenses and ID cards were breached in a September security incident, the Florida Dept. of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles says. This includes document images and personal information. More info: content.govdelivery.com/acco…

X, an American company operating lawfully in the United States, was told by Ofcom, the UK's Internet nanny, to write a report about how much censorship it's doing Instead of flipping Ofcom the bird, like my clients did, X wrote the report. Ofcom is now nitpicking the report.
X has submitted its first quarterly report on its commitments to tackle illegal hate and terror content. This appears to show improvements in time taken to review reports, but concerns remain on its response to taking down illegal content.

Let me be clear: if you target Florida's vulnerable, we will target you. Preventing fraud is a priority for our office. That's why I've joined the @VP's Pledge to Protect Americans from Fraud. As Florida's Attorney General, I'll keep making fraudsters pay. @WHFraudTF

Guys, look at the list of "concerned parents" groups calling on "social media safeguards for children". Heritage Foundation, Center for Christian Virtues, Moms for Liberty, Federation of Republican Women, etc etc. Do you think these people care about protecting kids?

Not good news, but grateful that @NetChoice and @Paul_Taske will continue this fight. To ban under-14s the platforms have to know the age of every user. To get parent permission for 15 and 16s will require some way to link the parent and child relationship. This is a digital ID framework, which we were told was never going to happen in Florida.
🚨NetChoice to Explore All Options to Protect Floridians' Rights Online Following Eleventh Circuit Court Ruling on HB3 ATLANTA—The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit ruled today against NetChoice and CCIA in CCIA & NetChoice v. Uthmeier, our challenge to Florida's HB 3. "We are disappointed in the Eleventh Circuit’s ruling, which allows Florida to enforce its law imposing digital ID requirements as a condition for accessing lawful speech,” said @Paul_Taske, Director of the NetChoice Litigation Center. "We are currently evaluating all of our options as we continue the fight to ensure Floridians’ rights to free expression online are protected, and parents remain in the driver’s seat when it comes to making decisions for their families." In practice, this means that social media websites must verify the ages and/or parental statuses of all their users — forcing Floridians of every age to hand over sensitive personal information just to access lawful speech online. HB 3 will also require these sites to terminate existing accounts they deem were created by Floridians under 14, further bar current Floridians under 14 from creating accounts, and require Floridians who are 14- and 15-years-old to obtain parental consent before they can do so.

I am happy I could bring awareness to the Voice Actor situation Using my platform to stop bad actors that want to ruin anime and manga from ever having a job in the Industry brings me joy Many of these VAs have proven how rotten the industry is and how silent people will be to make more money. I could have easily have been silent about many controversial topics to earn way more money, but refused to do that. I would never be able to live with myself if I did The reason I bring this up is because of "Niche Gamer" revealing they will stay silent if it means to earn more money too In fact I've lost quite a few brand deals because of my stance on censorship and calling out Crunchyroll over the years I likely would have never gotten any slander I currently do if I never spoke up, but that ain't me as a person I am a loud and obnoxious person that will say what needs to be said TL:DR - Never throw away your beliefs over money

INTRODUCED: new laws to extraterritorially censor American Internet platforms, and threaten American citizens with turbo fines for exercising their First Amendment rights. Pass the GRANITE Act.

Age verification is violating american's first amendment
Here is the UK openly boasting on X that it can ignore Americans’ First Amendment rights and enforce British censorship on U.S. soil. The GRANITE Act will put a permanent end to this. Foreign censors do not get to rewrite the Constitution.

Since the beginning of this month, news of large-scale personal data breaches involving companies and government agencies has dominated the headlines in Japan, creating a significant social impact. This trend is likely to foster a more cautious approach to the ongoing debate regarding the tightening of online age verification measures. We must not let this heightened awareness of security issues be merely a passing phase.

Australia’s Prime Minister called his new online censorship bill “change from the bottom-up, my Government listening and acting.” The campaign group standing beside him at the launch had lobbied his office for it in a private letter. That same group gets 89 percent of its funding from his government. Its revenue jumped 975 percent in a single year, and Canberra has since handed it another $4.4 million. The bill lets the eSafety commissioner run fake accounts, order content removed, and fine platforms up to A$109.2 million. The government paid for the public demand and then answered the call. reclaimthenet.org/teach-us-c…

Age verification suppresses free speech and places our privacy at risk. Schilling also has been an ass to everyone who disagrees with him
Proud to join this letter from @Schilling1776 and @approject. "Families across the country deserve consistent, enforceable safe-design standards on every platform their children use. We ask you to put the health and safety of children first."
